I have around 90 hours currently in the game so I guess I can say I've experienced the game. I played from day 1 and encountered some bugs much like anyone did. For me none was game breaking, I had some crashes in Rostok like many, but was able to complete the game.

In turn for sticking with the game, you get an incredible game, atmosphere (both visuals and audio) is simply unmatched and so is the exploration in the game too.

Dont let all the negativity keep you from playing the game, it does have some bugs, no doubt, though nothing game breaking for, but if you like an open world exploration game with gunplay, then get the game.

no mouse invert

Do not expect an open world experience, its a very linear game with a great story and setting. Being linear does not detract from it at all, its a finely crafted story for you to experience with some choices you can make as you go along.

The voice acting is particularly good, it carries the story without slipping and the game looks very good, some spectacular vistas here and there.

I like that the developers dont shy away from certain scenarios, even though its just a game, its sometimes very grim to walk into a situation, not knowing where a potential foe might attack from.
Great game, but you cant let your attention down for second.

Incredible game, words cant describe. The story is so good, so many arcs that you can explore. The voices and absolutely perfect, the differences in the voices are so unique. The music is also really great. The art style too, nothing 3D or anything even remotely approaching Unreal Engine 5 levels of definition, but it adds so much to the game.

If you are looking for a game with a great story, something else than the normal everyday FPS or RPG or even anything else, try this, the atmosphere is simply unique.

I didnt even know the game existed, I was looking for something else as I was bored with the normal stuff and with this I struck gold.

This had to be one of the best sci-fi games I have ever played. It looks stunningly unique, story line is great and game play has so much to it with the various ways you can take on ememies.
I am seldom as hyped after playing a game like this.

Just a note, take your time with it, explore and see all there is to see, there is a LOT of stuff. They have put an incredible amount of work in the game.

A MUST play!

This is the first time in having STEAM for 20 years that I will change a review.
I have played almost every BF game and stood by them throughout their ups and downs, but now, after FORCING SECURE BOOT unto us, I cant play the game anymore due to my older system settings. I cant even play against stupid bots anymore.

Will never support BF, DICE or EA in future.

You make it difficult for legit players to play the game, while cheaters will just find another way to cheat. in the end I guess the majority of BF 2042 players will be cheaters.

This game is amazing, I played it alone, so its possible to beat alone.

Best way I can sum up the game is like this
70% just exploring (I love the sensation of exploring the world, one of thee most beautiful game worlds I have ever seen)
20% Play the game story
10% Just gawking at the stunning world, sunsets and sun rises are amazing.

Besides the looks, the game is great, really enjoyed my ~60 hours in the game, which started of with a free weekend of the game.

This game can be described as a "time sink"

Each time you start a new game, you use what you learned in the previous game. First you'll randomly build a couple of lines, on the ground, but soon you'll realise you didnt plan properly.
2nd game, you'll build a proper floor, plan your lines a bit better.....only to realise you didnt plan properly.
3rd game, oh wait, I can go horizontally! Lets build a multi story building! Soon you'll have a monolith proudly displaying your destruction of nature.....only to discover you didnt plan properly.

lol, just plan your layout properly and leave enough space.

The game is amazing, so much to discover and build.

Played this game when it came out and ummmm, minimum was all I could do.
Now I run it max out at 2560x1440 @60. (no, I dont own a 144Hz monitor :( )
Game run great, had one of two graphical glitches, but they were minor. No crashes at all, but then, I am running nVidia :D

It still hold up very well over 10 years later. If you are a gamer from back then, I'd say grab it and just enjoy it.
