Peaceful, pleasant, enjoyable to look at and play. A good, fairly passive city builder you should definitely try the demo. Can't wait to get the full version so I can see all the building varieties and design SO MANY CITIES!

The Short: If you love city builders, especially fairly chill ones, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS! Try out the demo and you'll be itching with anticipation for the full release.

The Long: Very enjoyable even for just a demo. It's one of those games that you can't stop playing because there's always something to do, but in a good way. I kept saying that I needed to stop playing and go to bed, but before I knew it, I was at the end of the demo time limit! Lol! As a friend said, it's an "Oh! Piece of candy!" game that just keeps you going.

The graphic design is sort of a 3D cartoony style that I really like. The 2D art, from the seasonal tracker and time management buttons to the cards for special things, is so pleasant to look at. Very complimentary to the setting and theme of the game.

The music? Extremely enjoyable and pleasant to listen to for a full two hours of gameplay (and beyond if you so choose to play the demo over and over again!).

I highly recommend this game when it hits full release and have told numerous people to try out the demo. There have been a few who have already wish listed it themselves!

The Short: The demo was decent, gives you a nice bite sized taste of potentially a fairly expansive builder/exploration game.

The Long: I like the structure and setting for the game. At first demo-tutorial play through, I was a (little) bit overwhelmed because it definitely has a lot packed in. But second play through I really got the feel for it and powered through at an enjoyable pace. In the full game it looks like there will be a lot to unlock in terms of variety and expansion, which is really neat. A bonus is the varying degree of assistance in gameplay, either have your hand held, a bit of guidance or none at all.

It also has a story with layers. There are event choices that impact the settlement as well.

This game has not only city building, but building management as well. You have to set up resource routes for the store houses and resource buildings, it's done in a pretty simple way. While your area starts out relatively small, it looks like you can expand the barrier quite a bit in the future and I am very curious to see the trade structure in the future.

My only complaint are the AI voices, sort of ruins the immersion when you recognize the voices as AI and from youtube clip channels, lol. I don't really mind that the art (I think?) is AI - which is wild to say, coming from an artist. Though it would be neat to see it replaced with artwork done by real people in the future. I feel human art and human voices would be a good investment for the long term. But I know that it is a steep price, especially with current costs, but might be a good time to try some indie artists!

I do believe I could recommend this to others. It looks to have a lot in terms of gameplay and longevity of said gameplay. I would first recommend to play the demo, though, so people can understand what they're getting in to.

Much like it's predecessors, this is a great game. Adorable cats, colorful and fun art, very engaging. Yeah it's a seek and find so if you devote a couple hours to it you can 100% it pretty quickly. But it's still great fun with a lot of layers for a point and click seek n find. Plus every purchase goes to help shelter kitties! That's pretty great!

Enjoyable, time consuming city management game set in Ancient China during the Song Dynasty.

Very cute, pleasing art style that's easy on the eyes and a fantastic combination of Song era art with a modern cutesy anime/manga style.

Almost completely translated as far as writing goes. There are some newer features (the Jingnan shipping update) that still needs to be full translated as of this post. As well as some sub-menu text.

I have not yet experienced the bugs others have posted about, the game works splendidly for me. So it seems it's random on who they might affect? I don't know.

Narration is still in Chinese and I hope it stays that way because it's much more immersive. Of course I'm an avid C-Drama enjoyer so subs > dubs in this regard, hehe. Alternative narration languages might be preferable to some players.

The story mode is challenging and doubles as a tutorial. Some maps are easier than others. The harder maps will probably have you loading saves to re-attempt challenges (pretty much scum saving, lol). As of this review, I've beaten all current challenge maps save for the 7th one. It has me stumped. Overall it's not hard, just frustrating because I keep failing. But I have an addiction and keep going back to try and beat it, it's not the hardest though. Makes you suffer like a county magistrate under numerous layers of officialdom, but with cute art!

Free mode is fun, I tried it for a little bit before switching to story mode and will go back to it soon. Probably even now as I sit and stew on how to beat map 7. May update this review when I put more hours into free mode.

Animations are very cute and fun to watch. There are even random actions/interactions on the map. Lovers off flirting in the woods, people being unalived in the city, officers arresting people by locking them in a cangue type device, auspicious events, etc. There's pretty much always something to see aside from the people working and going from place to place. Each building also has it's own animations and the saloon has lean horses (hehehe).

It's not a super micro-managey management game like some others, but to get through tough times or some challenges, it CAN be. But in free mode, it seems much more laid back once you get over the starting issues (lack of people/food/building supplies, things like that). If you are new to city management, it might be a little bit more challenging to get the hang of. But if you are experienced with them, it follows the usual formula.

Some other neat features include being able to upload your city to the servers so other people can tour it, as well as downloading other peoples' cities to tour them. You can also make and share land maps to build on too! There are also building combinations that can increase various economic aspects, mostly consumerism. When you are in free mode (Adventure), you can choose a city seal which can affect your city in different ways, both positive and negative. This can up the challenge level on even the hardest base map if you want.

It's not really a copycat of Emperor: RotMK, which is a much older, more in depth management game with more layers of story (you can even choose your own birth sign and name your leader in that one) and terrible, outdated controls (not it's fault, but it should be updated). Thriving City Song's controls are better, it's leaner but still has story depth and is accessible on Steam. If it's to be considered a copy cat, so are a majority of city builder management games that released after as management games all follow the same formula. I'd say it's more like Emperor: RotMK's fun little brother.

Anyway, I can see me sinking a LOT of time into this game over the long term. I would highly recommend, especially if you like Ancient Chinese Dynasty themed games. I would love to see Tang, Ming, Qing, and so many other versions of this.

TL;DR I love it! There is a demo, so if you are curious, give it a go!

Edit: Free/Adventure Mode is a ton of fun!

Edit2: In regards to Map 7, I finally beat it. It turns out that you need to convert foreigners into citizens. These are different from tourists. You use a Foreign House, include all basic items and any bonus items you can provide to help quicken conversion. I don't remember how many you need to convert. There was no prompt or info on this at all, I just happened to find it in a translated post somewhere in the forums.

Cute, fast and probably the easiest one of the series so far. It's free, so if you are looking for a quick seek-and-find game to play during long loading screens, this one is great.

Or even if you just like seek and find games. All achievements are for the main, free map, for you achievement hunters.

Cute picture sorting game. I thought it was like the slide puzzles, but you can exchange pieces clear across the board which makes it pretty easy even on the hard mode. So it's a good casual pass time game.

The chart it uses for birthstones and signs I am not sure. I grew up with the modern birthstone chart, which it doesn't follow. It also doesn't seem to follow the Zodiac birthstone charts I am also familiar with. That's not saying much, though, as it just depends on the source you reference. Even my saying "modern birthstone chart" depends on where you go for that, lol.

But nonetheless it's cute, neat and gets the personalities and traits of the Zodiac signs right. So unless you are a prickly stickler for that kind of stuff, you'll probably enjoy it.

Never played Sudoku before. So it was challenging as well as fun and cute.

The first seek-and-find game of a series from this developer and I love it! It ended up being the last one I played out of the three currently released, funnily enough. It has the basic elements from is sequels that they built upon. Very cute maps without the ability to zoom in. Lot's of hidden cats. It has a shallow plot and no story line. You are hired to pet all the cats in the building, that's it, and that's all you need, haha.

I think it was worth the purchase price, especially since you are supporting a dev team that helps IRL cats. The fact it's a pretty fun pass time is a bonus.

Yet another very cute seek-and-find cat game from this developer. It has a much more in depth story line than Arcade full of Cats and has more depth to the levels as well. You explore an entire castle, finding the cats in each room, finding items to unlock other areas, etc. There is also a mini-game at the end to beat the boss that is still seek-and-find but timed.

Love the aesthetic just like the Arcade one with the neon lights and so on and so forth. More than worth the price for the hour and a half of game play I got out of it (including some of the arcade game play you unlock). The purchase price money also goes to helping cats in the real world, so definitely worth the support.
