Arc Raiders? Easy 9.5/10. Best extraction shooter I've encountered.
The atmosphere alone sells it. That eerie '70s sci-fi vibe with world-class sound design creates this constant dread that just works. But here's the thing: the PvE isn't background noise. Those ARC robots?
They're legitimately terrifying, high-priority threats that keep your heart racing between player encounters.

What really elevates it is the social tension. Spot another player, hit that "Don't Shoot!" emote, and you're gambling. Could be a new ally or you might end up with holes. It's this brilliant 50/50 that makes every encounter feel consequential.

And technically? It's a treat. Embark ditched UE5's usual performance killers aka. Lumen & Nanite for silky-smooth optimization. Gorgeous and zero stutter? That's the dream.

This isn't just my new favorite, it feels like a genuine benchmark for the genre. Masterpiece territory.

Frankly, I'm surprised that I'm genuinely having a blast with Battlefield 6 REDSEC, and for me, it's a solid 8/10. They absolutely nailed the core feel. The gunplay has that perfect heft, where every hit feels chunky and earned, and the pace of combat is exactly what I want: tactical, but not at grandma's pace.

The Fort Lyndon map is a decent sandbox, but let's be honest, the Battle Royale mode itself is fun and all but we need more modifiers, new maps, creativity like Warzone's Plunder. Also, go crazy with destructible buildings, that sh*t is always fun.

The real reason I'm hooked, and the thing that needs to be the future, is Gauntlet. That mode is pure, unfiltered Battlefield chaos focused into a brilliant, high-stakes tournament. That's gold.

Battlefield is back y'all.

TLDR: I love it. Great mechanics. So much potential in this one.

WWAATD is a brutally captivating gladiator roguelike that masterfully blends deep strategic combat with a unique, unforgiving permadeath system. This wonderful mix stands out with its distinct, minimalist yet aesthetic visual style and incredibly well-executed physics-based combat, offering a visceral and engaging arena experience.

Each death fuels a meaningful "legacy" progression, ensuring every failure propels future gladiators forward. The diverse skill tree and equipment offer immense build customization, fostering endless replayability. Despite its challenging learning curve, the game's core mechanics and unique approach are exceptionally solid. "We Who Are About To Die" is a diamond in the rough with immense potential, offering a truly rewarding and relentless challenge for those who dare. 9/10.

Against the Storm is a really great mix of roguelike and city building, polished to perfection. The atmosphere is phenomenal, and the sound design is top-notch, really making you feel like you're weathering some storm in a secluded village.

Gameplays start off simple, quickly building into complex, engaging decision-making as the runs diverge by blueprint choices and evolving challenges. Success hinges on hostility management and resource balancing-especially food-higher difficulties that require careful planning. The game is pretty forgiving despite the challenge; it's always offering a way to recover, making each victory satisfying.

That said, the meta-progression feels really unbalanced, with core upgrades such as houses and timed orders taking far too long to unlock, while grinding for artifacts and machinery may be frustrating. Its heavy presence in runs takes away from enjoying those on their own.

These do somewhat detract from the experience, but core gameplay remains very compelling. Against the Storm is simply a must-play for anybody who enjoys management and building games, offering fantastic replayability and a level of polish that is seldom seen, thus easily recommended to anyone who enjoys thoughtful, atmospheric strategy games.

Helldivers 2 is a good game. The fast-paced, chaotic action and teamwork-focused missions make each session feel exciting. I love how the game challenges you to plan and adapt.

However, the grind is real. Unlocking better gear and progressing feels slow, and the missions can get repetitive. It’s frustrating when you have to replay similar missions over and over just to unlock new perks. IMO, the time put versus reward gained math of Helldivers 2 is a bit depressing.

That said, Helldivers 2 has great potential. If the developers expand mission variety and reduce the grind (or increase rewards), I can see it becoming something much more lasting. Right now, it's a fun, chaotic shooter, but it needs more content to keep me coming back for the long haul.

A Dystopian Masterpiece

In the sprawling, neon-lit streets of Night City, Cyberpunk 2077 unfolds its rich tapestry, weaving a narrative and experience that, despite its conspicuous imperfections, manages to captivate and engross. Navigating through the game on the PC, I found myself enveloped in a world where the line between digital and reality beautifully blurs.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not merely a game; it's an immersive journey into a meticulously crafted universe. The characters, each with their intricately woven narratives and emotional depth, become entities that transcend their digital origins. From the rebellious spirit of Judy to the stoic yet complex Takemura, every character invites players into their lives, offering a glimpse into their joys, struggles, and stories that feel palpably real.

The city itself is a character – a vibrant, chaotic, and utterly mesmerizing entity that can enthrall you for hours on end. It's not merely the main storyline that captivates; it's the myriad of subplots, the unexpected adventures, and the spontaneous encounters that truly elevate the Cyberpunk 2077 experience. The game allows you to lose yourself in its expansive world, exploring, connecting, and simply living amidst its urban cacophony.

However, the journey is not without its bumps. The most glaring issue lies in the game’s ‘endgame’ – or the lack thereof. Upon concluding the main story, players are thrust back to the pivotal point of no return, left with the option to perpetually replay the final mission. This mechanic, albeit slightly jarring, does not entirely detract from the immersive experience, especially if one chooses to simply return to the vibrant world and explore to their heart's content. Yet, for a select completionist like myself, it introduces a subtle yet persistent dissonance.

My anticipation for Cyberpunk 2077 was unparalleled, eclipsing the excitement for any other game in my gaming history. While it did not wholly meet the towering expectations – a bar set perhaps impossibly high – it delivered something uniquely special. It wasn’t the flawless experience I had envisioned, but it was a journey that resonated, offering a narrative that was compelling, characters that were genuine, and a world that was enchanting in its complexity and vibrancy. The fact that the game took 2 years to polish is a solid proof of this.

In reflection, Cyberpunk 2077 is a paradox of perfection and flaw, intertwining impeccable narrative crafting with noticeable technical shortcomings. It wasn’t the epitome of all my gaming hopes, but it was a spectacular adventure that I was far from disappointed in. The story never lost its allure, each mission was a new thrill, and the world was an endless canvas of exploration and interaction.

In its essence, Cyberpunk 2077 is a masterpiece, beautifully imperfect, and profoundly human.

10/10.

Ergh, so much potential wasted with lack of mods.

Other than that, it's an OK game.
