Just got ending E yesterday, what a journey!

Nier Automata's overwhelming strengths are absolutely in its characters and themes so I will try to to keep this review as spoiler free as possible. The questions the game poses you as you play through it and what it tries (and for the most part succeeds) to convey to you is very poignant. I would very much reccomend doing the sidequests, because they really add to the atmosphere andthe world that Yoko Taro wants you to experience. However that being said you may want to spread them out, since all the major story routes share the same overworld, I for one found route C kind of barren which is a shame because it ended up being my favorite of the three. Although some of the quests are dependent on the route you're currently in, so some research might want to be done before hand if you're a completionists. The gameplay was fun standard Platinum Games so if you enjoyed games like Bayonetta or Metal GGear Rising Revengeance, you'll enjoy the gameplay Nier has to offer.

It is very important to note that if you intend on playing through this game you should absolutely continue until at least Ending C, otherwise you won't be getting the full game. As far as optimization goes you should probably install the online fix that optimizes the game for PC. I run a gtx 970 and pre-fix I was able to run the game on medium with a stable 60fps. Post fix I bumped it up to high and added anti-aliasing and got 50-60fps.

Overall if you were on the fence just take the plunge and enjoy, you won't regret it. It was the first game I cared about finishing in a long time!
