I want it to be better.

Cons

- I wait much more than I play. Enemy turns take forever.

- Mapgen is frequently very imbalanced.

- Gameplay favors creating one monolith face roll hero.

- The hero talents system is very gimmicky. I would rather win or lose by managing my army, not because my hero has 350% experience gain.

- Mapgen can lead to huge empty areas. It can take several turns to move across empty oceans. Which means several times waiting on enemy turns.

Pros

- the combat is amazing, and very chill, just sit back and watch if you want

- the variety of units and factions is impressive

I would overall not recommend this game. It's very clearly following the HOMM template, so it kind of sets itself a bar it must meet. It's worse visually, AI, AI turn times somehow?!?, mapgen, audio, UI somehow...sometimes the map is offset from its frame. There's really no excuse for being worse in so many areas that a 30 year old game. There's definitely no excuse for having enemy turn times longer than a 30 year old gaming running on processors with speeds in the low MhZ. The combat is pretty cool though. There's not much in this genre, so at least it's got that going for it.
