If you truly are craving some looter shooter borderlands type game then you probably will at least enjoy it a bit.

Game really likes throwing you into these repeat encounters and just felt like some mobile game design or something.

Gameplay loop largely consists of "go here and eat/destroy/race" along with discovery. Some RPG elements to different shark body types. Shark swim mechanics are pretty neat, takes a bit to git gud but there is some cool movement tech. 13~ hrs to 100%.

Most redeeming factor for the game is that it is voiced by Chris Parnell and that was nice.

DLC was total ass, while it added a bunch of cool things it was ABSOLUTELY added as an afterthought after the end of the game and introduces some lag and stuff.

Mostly done with penances and did some havoc with the class.

Anyone saying the class has 0 utility is weird, we have a class dispersing the most dank ass Tertium drugs that can provide a mix of toughness regen, DR, stamina cost reduction, faith in the emperor, slow immunity, stun immunity, attack speed, dodge distance/recovery/speed, movespeed, weapon swap speed, rending, finesse, faith in the emperor, crit, and various forms of CDR.

My two major complaints were addressed in the latest hotfix as of Dec 9th.

1. Stimm Supply didn't work well with Chemical Dependancy well at ALL, it was some trash ass paint chip eating design but they fixed it.
2. The "mandatory" defensive nodes myself and a few other experienced players agreed on were locked at the bottom of the tree and gave IMMENSE survivability to the class. These are now within the very early difficulties of the game which will be a massive game changer for anyone looking for more tankiness. The passives are "Burst of Energy" and "Tis but a Scratch" both of which provide layers of toughness protection to keep you healthy, roll toughness regen on curios and enjoy. This is % toughness gain so stacking toughness curios does improve your recovery layers.

All 3 blitz's do WORK in the situations they shine in with the exception of the blinder needing Pocket Toxin, solid auras and good utility if you wanna be a drug dealer. 8/10

ALSO THE AMOUNT OF BUILDS ON BUILD SITES WITHOUT THOSE TOUGHNESS NODES IS ASTONISHING!
The fact that the obese predatory fish gang moved them to be so central should maybe put some emphasis on how "essential" they are.

Edit: Finished the game 100%, was a fun ride. HIGHLY recommend trying TPS shoulder surf mod once you unlock rage mode. Swapped and did 100% of game once I did this and was a blast. Game could also really use controller support.

Should be noted that the game is being review bombed because of how devs responded to a malicious mod, even though it's completely optional to mod the game and out of their control because it is on Steam workshop? There are reviews saying you're "in danger" if you download and it's extremely misleading, the base game has nothing to do with that mod and you have 0 risk. People are just salty over the original response the devs had, and I do agree they had a terrible response but review bombing and LYING about it is equally pathetic. Now we have a bunch of fake ass reviews saying the game is virus but it's just mouth-breathing neanderthals that never learned to read sadly.

For the price, yes this game is worth it. Just a little PvE extraction shooter with sight lines and a bit of a recoil mechanic.
Few mods drastically enhanced the experience, though only QoL stuff.

The campaign was enjoyable and if all you care about is that, this game is excellent, however stepping into endgame is incredibly repetitive and is lacking in basic common sense features. It should also be noted that they may be changing a lot of the issues I have with endgame PvE some time 2026.

Endgame PvE has this atrocious perk prestige system that causes you to lose all of your levels and perks associated with them every time for a mediocre prestige perk. Now there is more difficult content and this system just feels like straight ass considering the new content also gives terrible experience for the difficulty.

There are perks that are meant for a single weapon in some trees and your perk tree is global rather than being tied to each loadout, same with cosmetics which is whatever.

You cannot change aiming shoulders which would be helpful in a lot of situations but mostly would change PvP quite a bit.

They at least added a method to generate more requisition points so you can at least afford your tree each time it resets but it should be per loadout NOT global, especially since we can afford multiple trees now.

140~ hours in endgame mostly in Substantial/Ruthless (30%~/60%~) to finally max every character to T4 prestige. Mostly successful missions with gene seed locations memorized and extracted in easily 80%+ of these all doing solo queue quick play for the bonus XP.

Devs delivered and now we have more Monster Train. This ♥♥♥♥ slaps all around, especially that soundtrack.

Game has so much content and combinations to pour through, defending the train is captivating, probably made by Satan 10/10 Hell Yea!

The custom stickers and hunter loadouts made this game highly enjoyable and still is to me.

Endgame however is a linear grind to the end of anomaly and once you get 300 and do your special investigations there is no reward. They could have at least given us a new augmentation unlock for making it there and completing them.

Charms were okay, you get good ones after a while and once you get god rolls you can even trivialize 300 anomaly hunts so the RNG is completely fine there.

AUGMENTS HOWEVER... Well whoever at Capcom decided to make the augments take so many button presses layered under all its RNG is clearly slobbing satans' knob. I made a macro to make it less painful and it was more bearable. I rolled and rolled until I got what I needed and would just go make a new piece of gear once I hit anything worthwhile on the better pieces at endgame. This gave a little more value to hunting monsters as their parts weren't wasting away in my stash.

If the system were designed to be easily repeatable, it wouldn't feel so damn awful. The RNG wasn't THAT bad to get even hyper specific rolls but damn... the 800 button presses for my 80 augment rolls is mental.
