This game does not compete with the Forza Horizon series. This game successfully makes its own identity. Test drive unlimited is the game that is responsible for these series. Forza Horizon tried to be a better version of TDU while The Crew 2 tried to be an enhanced version of TDU. The Crew 2 is not a game for everyone especially if you are a racing sim fan or even if you are a hardcore Forza fan. If you like free roam gameplay with a huge map & variety of vehicles also some arcade-type racing then this game is for you.

An underrated fun game. The objective is simple. Fulfill the given tasks & earn money to unlock the next map and buy new vehicles or upgrade the existing one.
Recommended.

If you are looking for a short relaxing game then I would definitely recommend it. If you rush you can complete it under an hour.

If you like retro games especially the 8-16 bit ones then look no further.
This is a bright colourful racing game with equally attractive 80's music. Gameplay is similar to games from that era.
There are enough tracks and enough customizable cars (6) to keep you busy for a while.
Overall you will not get disappointed. This is another underrated game.

This is not a review. I am just saying what I think about this game.
Inertial Drift honestly according to me is a very underrated game. It unfortunately is not getting the attention it deserves.
If you love playing casual arcade style racing games then this game is definitely for you. You can check the demo itself or refund is always an option. The visuals are beautiful, tracks are challenging & the game play is fun. You can select from a variety of cars & every car handles differently. There are around 20 tracks but the game offers enough challenges to keep you engaged for sometime. Also I think its fairly priced too. Like I have mentioned before if you are a person who likes to race using a controller & if you love arcade games then this game is just for you.

A short review

Without wasting any time I will come to the point directly.
Please note that this is a hardcore city car driving simulator as the name suggests. If you only like casual racing games like need for speed, burnout etc then chances are you may not like it. Also I would highly recommend using a wheel like Logitech G29 etc for this simulator. I have played this game with both keyboard and a Xbox 360 controller with manual shifting & honestly both are not that comfortable to use for this game.
For me keyboard is too difficult & it also kills the purpose of this sim. But still if you want to try it out for fun then you may go ahead.
Now as mentioned before this game is so strict that you will get punished or notified for even making a slightest mistake. This may get frustrating for some people as its the main problem of this game. It wants you to be 100% perfect. If passing in this sim becomes mandatory for getting a license then I am pretty sure only around 25-30% of people will pass which can be both good & bad.

Anyways this sim has 2 game modes 1. Career Mode and 2. Free driving mode. The career mode is divided into 5 groups called driving school student, novice, experienced, professional and special training. Each of these groups has some tasks which you must complete to unlock the tasks of the next group. As you progress the tasks gets more challenging. If you want more challenge then the career mode also has an optional advanced mode too where its more unforgiving and with more limitations like you can't switch to external camera etc.

The best part of this game is the free driving mode where you can drive anywhere you like around the city and in any way you want. You can even turn off the notifications.
In this mode you can select the time of the day, weather conditions, season and traffic behaviour. There are many options in traffic behaviour to make the situation more realistic like You can change the frequency of breaking of traffic lights, dangerious change of traffic, lighting system failure, steering malfunction etc.

City car driving has only 1 map which is decent & around 12 vehicles. However when you create your profile at the beginning you can choose from 4 different countries viz USA, Australia, European union, Russian federation. Traffic rules changes according to the country selected so you can play the same map with 4 different rules.
Also this game support mods and there are many good car mods available in the steam workshop. The game is decent visually and the same can be said for its sound too. There are few bugs too & the AIs are not perfect but nothing game breaking.
The current price is a bit steep therefore if you don't want to get it now then you can wait for a discount or a sale.

Overall I would highly recommend this game to those who are learning to drive or want to learn driving & also to people who owns a wheel & loves some realistic sims.

I have played this game for quite sometime & decided to share some of my views with you guys. I will try to keep it short.
Good parts
1. The controls are very simple & its very easy to play.
2. Its a relaxing game.
3. Good lighting effects & some vehicles looks decent. I think overall it looks decent too.
4. You can change the time of the game whenever you want.
5. Scenic routes
Bad parts
There are many but I will only point out the main ones.
1. Menu design is poor its so big and takes all of your screen. At first I thought I am having some resolution problem.
2. No penalty for breaking traffic rules.
3. Looks like the developer's primary aim is mobiles. Its filled with low poly models and some low resolution textures. Also frequent texture popping is there.
4. Physics is not that good. Vehicle deformation is poor when you collide with something.
5. No feedback to the controller I mean no vibration present.
6. The game is fun for 4-5 hours after that it kind of feels like a chore.

Hope the developers improve these parts. Overall I think the game shows a lot of promise. If the developers keep on improving their content then it can reach near the success of ETS 2.
Now should you buy it?
In my opinion the current price is a bit steep. Certainly yes if they give 30% off. Then again if they keep on improving the content then you may get your money's worth. The best solution is buy it and try it yourself as refund is always an option.

FIX THE DAMN BUGS! I was not going to give a negative score but the bugs are so irritating Please fix them.

I love need for speed shift. According to me its one the best reboot of this series. It is a good mixture of arcade & sim.
You can play the game in any way you like. It does not take itself seriously as a sim & rewards you according to your play style at the end.
You can take the precision route like sims or you can just ram your way aggressively but do note that the second option may sound fun but is quite risky.
I love the cockpit view of this game its really very immersive to play it that way. Very few racing games provide this type of detailed cockpit view.
However if you are searching for pure racing simulators then go for GT, forza, iracing or asseto corsa etc. This game may not be for you. But if you do love some light mood racing games or some arcade fun then you can definitely try this one out.
Yes one downside is online is empty I don't think anybody plays it online now. I could not get a single online match yet.
Also on hight difficulty the AI just sucks they acts so dumb on corners that it will be frustrating for you. Its more like trial and erroe. Either they will block your way or push you off track which is ridiculous.

Please don't go by gamespot's review. This game is not at all bad. If you love bikes and love to ride them even in the virtual world then this game is for you. Btw please don't expect too much realism. Its a cross between sim and casual motorcycle racing. There are many awesome bikes to choose from and a good amount of different tracks too. There are many events and challenges which you can complete to earn credits with which you can buy new motorcycles.
Btw Controlling hayabusa is a bit difficult in this game you will just crash even if you bump into anything even in low speed which may get annoying.This is a total fun game for people who wants to have some fun!
If you are okay with these then you will enjoy the game too.
