This is the first Guantlet Game that I have played. Coming from playing Diablo 3 extensively and Borderlands 2, and other rpg loot based games, this game is on a different class of game. It isn't loot based like most. You can get gold which can go towards different abilities, however it is mostly a classic old-school style hack n' slash game. If you want to relive the glory days of the '80's and '90's style of rpg dungeon crawlers, this is for you.
