This game really makes you feel like you're looking for Pepe Silvia.

It's a free survivors game that ranks among the best of them

In addition to a solid core gameplay loop that always keeps you engaged as you continually push your luck with each dive, this game also includes every other mechanic that the developers thought of thrown together, yet they all somehow work together to constantly surprise you and keep you entertained

The gameplay is reminiscent of The Return of the Obra Dinn, solving murders in the moment they occur through observation of clues in the environment, and giving them context yourself through deduction. However, The Case of the Golden Idol provides some amenities to make the gameplay more streamlined, reducing the moments of frustration that could occur from overlooking a clue that may not be obvious is missing. Overall this was an excellent game with a very engaging mechanic, and i hope to see more like this in future.

So much replay value

Excellent replay value, and very useful to fill up half an hour at a time.

This game is quite short for its price, but the whole way through makes up for it with beautiful visuals and a very unique puzzle mechanic. Definitely worth getting when on sale.
