I have wanted to write this review for a while-- this is a game that I keep coming back to because, after the years of work that the team at Hello Games has put into it, is polished and performant. Even grinding for credits feels satisfying, and the moment I get bored of whatever I'm doing, I can just jump offworld or move onto one of the myriad of other tasks in the universe. No Man's Sky is the perfect balance of wish fulfillment (who hasn't wanted to own a freaking FREIGHTER) with work that you have to put into it.

I will say that the grind-y nature can be apparent at times and that the early game is slow, and that there are a good few people who may be bored with a lot of the gameplay-- there is a lot of resource collection and, while I like how it's varied and how it plays, this may be a dealbreaker for some. All of this said, it is one of my favorite games and I think warrants at least a try.

Baloons are a wonderful stealth tactic.
