Unfortunately, I have to say that skate. is not recommendable. The only genuinely positive aspect compared to Skate, Skate 2, and Skate 3 is the excellent control system, which has thankfully been carried over from the earlier titles. Beyond that and aside from an expanded builder mode (that I barely use) there is nothing this installment truly improves or meaningfully expands upon.

The city feels bland and uninspired, the Fortnite-style visuals seem out of place, the character models are unattractive, and the challenges are repetitive and dull. Add to that a forgettable soundtrack, unrealistic elements that add little real value and an overall sense of endless grinding, and the experience quickly becomes tedious.

The technical issues are also significant and difficult to ignore. In 2026, it should not be acceptable for a game to encounter problems nearly every second time it is launched. Basic stability ought to be a given, yet here it feels unreliable and inconsistent, which negatively impacts the overall experience from the very beginning.
Furthermore, the implementation of HDR support is far from satisfactory. A modern title should handle such standard display features without difficulty, but in this case it proves unnecessarily complicated and inconsistent. Taken together, these technical shortcomings reflect a lack of polish that is disappointing for a contemporary release.

Yes, it’s nice to finally have skate. on PC. Yes, it’s nice that it’s free-to-play. And yes, the controls remain solid and familiar. But that’s where the positives end. I would have much preferred a remake of the original Skate or Skate 3—and I would have happily paid for it. Instead, this constant "grind" feels more exhausting than engaging.

Secure Boot problem. Resolved it in the BIOS, now, the day after, same problem again.

At this point I dont care anymore. Dont buy this crap.

Ban this kind of "games" from Steam! It is an outrage that such miserable software can find a place on a gaming platform.

The developer is very active in the community and quickly addressed the grindy achievements after user feedback.

Overall, the game isn't anything particularly groundbreaking, but it's a fun little minigame that brings back nostalgic memories of the classic Minesweeper. It's perfect for playing a few short rounds here and there. Thanks to the drag method, the achievements are now much more manageable.

Awesome game but Free 2 play hidden behind a paywall. Better charge 10€ for it and make all the content available to play. Otherwise you cant do anything anymore in this game after you reached any division.

Update: They’ve significantly updated the game and improved it in many ways, including better achievements and the addition of a free mode. However, it’s still not possible to access all content without paying, so it still isn’t truly free-to-play. At its core, it remains a subscription-based game, so the label is still wrong.

Don't call this thing a game anytime. Won't spend any time to review this idiotic program. Steam should ban such pathetic things, this should still be a GAMING platform!

This game didn't need a standalone version for this small "upgrade". An update of the original version would have been easily enough. At least they made it available for free.

Oh and GTA online (which seems to be the only thing that matters today) still sucks and always will - its just a boring, repetitive and cringy cash grab. Singleplayer is a 10/10 masterpiece.

Since there are just small graphical updates and there are no important changes for the singleplayer for 10 years i wouldnt recommend this game again.
