This game is really good at reminding me I should go play Old World instead. Huge disappointment.

Absolutely diabolical. Absolutely a masterpiece.

Best 4X I have played in years.

I've played every iteration of this series, some much more than others. This is the one where they finally got it where I think they always wanted it. The janky and overly opaque nature of previous releases is gone, and they've figured out how to make it deep and complex without being complicated. The massive learning curve is still there, but you can explore it in a way that makes far more sense and is honestly far more fun than before. I was a very late comer to this one but I foresee spending hundreds of hours in it (when CKIII isn't taking up all my free time). If you've always wanted to try this series, this one is where it's finally all come together. Highly recommended.

The art style choices they made on this one are...interesting. Civ V was beautiful but this one--subjective at best. The game itself has been significantly improved. This is a better and deeper game than V and well worth your time if you can get past the pathetically greedy DLC policy. Also they still haven't fixed the AI city spamming issue. Been waiting a couple of decades now on that one.

Picked this up for the memories--I put hundreds of hours into this game back in the day. Quite simply one of the greatest RPGs ever made. This was Bioware at its zenith. It may be a little dated looking, but the appeal is in the characters and the story, which stand up to the any of the movies in quality--and are objectively better (by a lot) than Episodes I-III. Worth playing just for HK-47, who is the best NPC companion character in the history of gaming.

Fun, Diablo type action with a lot of charm and a great art style. It can get a bit repetitive even by the standards of this kind of game, but is mostly a blast. Personally, I enjoyed it a lot more than Diablo 3.

It's hard to pinpoint any single thing that is wrong with this game. It is very similar to Civ V gameplay wise, though not quite as deep. The problem is that the factions are unimaginitve, and they simply don't get you invested in them or the game. Like many people, I was probably comparing this to Alpha Centauri, which was a masterpiece. This pales in comparison. The DLCs help some, but overall it is just a bland experience. I would rather play Civ V or VI, or Endless Legend. Get one of those instead, or find a copy of the original Alpha Centauri.
