Came back to this game a year after playing it for a fair few hours in VR, only to find everything completely changed, and the only option to play the game replaced with a completely unintelligible "Intro" that just tells you "Car no start, fix", with not a single clue, hint, or guide on how to even begin diagnosis. I spent a good hour tearing through the engine bay trying to figure out why more than half of the engine is just missing, and the other half is "failed" (only revealed when you tear each item out and hold it in your hand, not a clue how to test in-situ). I gave up after replacing the starter, wiring harness, and battery and the car STILL not turning over... IN THE INTRO MISSION.

The previous version was neat, came with a nice "Hanes"-style manual on the tablet, and had clear and concise objectives.

This version is obtuse, opaque, and missing any sort of help. Also, it has been made needlessly tedious now that socket sizes actually matter. Also also, it makes the classic "Sim Game" mistake of thinking that spending 20 minutes cleaning a pile of garbage out of your starter area piece-by-piece, one-at-a-time, is "fun".

I'll come back to this game later, perhaps, since I really like the idea of it. But HOOBOY, this latest update makes the game nearly unplayable if you don't already know what the game wants from you or actually are a mechanic in real life. For now though, I can only recommend giving it a skip.

Buy this game for the great singleplayer campaign, but avoid the multiplayer as it's a grindfest full of hackers, moneysinks, and nagging microtransactions.

I've wasted my life on this thing.

Not so much of a game by itself, but rather a platform for other things to be played on it. It is a bit of a requirement to own pretty much the entire Orange Box set and CS:S to see all the content that mod makers like to use, so the price tag is a bit misleading. You can play without these games mounted, but you will see a LOT of "ERROR" placeholders and missing textures.

As other reviewers have said, the base game doesn't offer much to the common player. Sure, you can strap hoverballs and thrusters on an airboat and make a plane of sorts, but that gets old fairly fast. The real fun comes from the giant amount of content on the Workshop and in various Git repositories. You've got your simple stuff that you play with friends for a couple hours before moving on, like Prop Hunt, Trouble in Terrorist Town, and Melon Bomber. You've also got your game modes that absolutely suck your life away, like DarkRP or Spacebuild. Garry's Mod offers a little something for everyone, when you factor all that in.

For me, the majority of my play time has come from programming and creating content for Spacebuild. For modders, GMod is exceptionally easy to get content up and running as everything is done on an auto-updating Lua layer. When you make a change, lets say your custom bomb entity doesn't do enough damage, GMod will reload that file when it detects that it has changed, and you more often than not will be able to see those changes instantaneously. There are some caveats to this, like when working on gamemodes as those are not auto-updated, and more complicated things end up not reloading properly when dependencies are involved, but for the most part, there's a reason why I have 5000+ hours in this.

TL;DR - A platform for interesting/fun/dumb workshop content, a decent modding platform, and not a whole lot else.

It's like a rocketry simulator game, but they replaced the sterility of normal sims with bobble-headed green men and a duct-tape-and-baling-twine space program.

I think it's hard not to enjoy this game.

I like to call the gameplay in this "Wizardstep," as you cast spells, block attacks, and regenerate mana with three Stepmania/DDR style fields. Gameplay gets hectic and fun quite fast. I would say that this game is also great for improving your coordination in general because of that.

Also, it's FIVE FREAKING DOLLARS. Skip a trip to McDonalds or Starbucks or whatever, and you have enough money left to get this game.

This game is amazing. A quite unique element-based spellcasting system combined with many hilarious, accidental team-kills, plus some referencial humor thrown in for good measure makes this a must-have for those who have at least 3 friends who own the game.

What I mean by that last line is that it's not very fun in single player. Multiplayer is probably the only reason to play this game. Don't get me wrong, though, it's the same game, there's just four wizards instead of one, and each one can revive you with a spell if you die.

Despite that, though, this game is NOT easy, especially when your teammates "accidentally" kill you all the time. Killing the hoards of enemies that come at you is almost as fun as flinging a giant boulder at your teammates!

This is an excellent zombie shooter. Gameplay is wave-based, where you kill a set number of "zombies" and then have a short amount of time to get to the trader and upgrade your loadout for the next wave. The only time you can respawn is between waves, so try not to die!

The only thing keeping me from saying that it's 100% worth a buy for shooter fans is that the $20 price-point might be a tad high for the amount of game you get, especially if you're a college student like I am.

Also, English accents make everything better.

A great concept that gimped itself with poor multiplayer and limited gameplay. I would love to see a more competent developer (or maybe these guys once they get better at multiplayer development) take on this same idea and do it much better!

If you have $5 to spend and like turret gunplay, I'd say get it, but don't expect too much from it.

This game is lots of fun. In short, it's a third-person tower defense, similar in nature to Orcs Must Die! and Sanctum. However, in this game, each player can choose a Class which has a unique playstyle with different abilities and defenses to hold off the massive hoards.

Do note, there will be a LOT of enemies on screen; not for the faint of hardware!

A great twin-stick style shooter similar to Geometry Wars. Gameplay is based on the intensity of the music you give it. However, be careful with slow songs, as your weapon's power is based on that same intensity, essentially gimping you during slow parts. Somewhat fixed in Beat Hazard Ultra, as some of the new enemies and weapon types are also powered based on the music (enemies will move to the music speed, pusher/puller enemies get stronger with intensity, etc).
