I had a great time with this game. It is clearly influenced by the Ace Attorney series of games, and I feel like it has accomplished its own little place in the library of puzzling law games. It has its own unique quirks and style, with interesting characters and cases to play through. There's a lot I like about this game, and a few things I feel could be improved upon.

The theme and art style are really charming. It is set in 19th century France and you play as a falcon lawyer named Jayjay Falcon who is accompanied by his assistant, Sparrowson. Both characters are very fun to follow and see their dialogue and banter they have together. All of the characters being animals is a neat twist and gave everyone their own added flair of unique personalities. The hand-drawn art style was also very pleasant.

The game is witty and well-written, and the cases themselves are interesting. You spend the days before the trial doing your investigations and it is less linear than in Ace Attorney. You can unfold the case in different ways depending on where you investigate first and what choices you make. The game is unique in that each case can actually have a different outcome depending on what pieces of evidence you do and don't find, resulting in different endings for each case and different endings for the game. This is hindered slightly by the non-functioning save system. There is an option in the menu for saving & quitting, but the game doesn't save. The game only saves at the end of each day. The game still works well without this function, but it shouldn't be there if it does not work. Also, considering the cases have different outcomes, it would be nice to not only save whenever you'd like, but to have different save files to easily go back to try and go for a different outcome of a case. Especially since events in the third case affect the ending you receive. Although, this game does have replay value, so I don't think many people would have a problem going back and starting the cases from the beginning to see what other sorts of things they can do that they missed from their first play-through.

Another thing that's a bit of a negative is that there is no option to read through previously read dialogue. So if you accidentally skip through some, you cannot go back to read it. Other than the few nitpicky thing here and there, this game is a lot of fun for any Ace Attorney fan or mystery/puzzle fan in general. I really hope a sequel is in the works for Aviary Attorney.

Oh boy, this game was such a pleasant surprise from start to finish. When I initially found out about this game, I was interested in it because hey - I like "off the beaten path" type games that seem to invoke a bit of thought that you normally wouldn't have when you play your average platformer or fps. So I bought the game, started it up a few days later, and low and behold I see the developer's name: Gregory Weir. I was shocked and amused by how I managed to pick up a game by a game dev I've really admired for quite a few years. I've lost count of how many times I've played How to Raise a Dragon, Bars of Black and White, Looming, and, most of all, The Majesty of Colors. So needless to say, I was stoked to play this game, and it did not let me down.

I pretty much finished this game in one day. It is based off of Principia Discordia, which is a book for a religion of sorts called Discordianism. I cannot figure out if this relgion is a satire or 100% serious, and I guess thats, in some ways, a good thing. You play as a character trying to escape from the Ossuary. The gameplay mostly consists of solving puzzles and encouraging the seven deadly sins on people in order to progress and gain information for the four members of the sacred order who each seem to have their own agenda in order to protect the Ossuary. Along the way, you will expose the truths about the Ossuary and what they tell to their people in order to keep up a facade and keep everyone in check. There is a lot of humorous dialogue that seems to poke fun at religous and politcal stances; from a museum filled with impure things that you actually aren't allowed to see, to two political parties in which membership you are allowed to switch back and forth with as you so choose. Also, cabbage people.

The puzzles are not terribly difficult, but are a nice challenge to figure out nonetheless. The gameplay adds nicely to the story as it allows you to figure things out at your own pace. The fact that every person in the Ossuary has different dialogue depending on what sin you impress on them is a very nice touch as well and offers some amusing conversations. I can tell the game was lovingly made, and the ending notes added yet another pleasant surprise to my experience. There is another game by Gregory Weir that might be easy to forget, but by playing Ossuary, I remembered it. Checking on the Ludus Novus website I found the "game" Narthex. It is a very short game with pretty similar graphics and art to Ossuary that advertises itself as having an ending that's "not worth getting". It is also a game that was made to try out a conversation engine. Its the game Ossuary was born from. Another nice surprise to see after finishing the game.

I reccommend this game to people who thought what I initially thought when buying this game. It is not a game with a ton of "gameplay" but it is every bit as engaging as any other game. Its a fun experience and now I know a little bit about this bizarre religion of Principia Discordia. And most of all, I was reminded of why I enjoyed Gregory Weir's games in the first place.

I feel like this could be a horror game gem, just like other RPG Maker horror-themed games like Yume Nikki and Ib.
Close Your Eyes centers around a character who escapes from death row. As you play the game you will have to solve a few puzzles, and along the way, more and more of the story gets revealed as to who this character is and why they were to be executed. Accompanied by haunting visuals and a constant air of suspense, a pretty disturbing and creepy story unfolds

The game has a unique art style, which seems 100% original instead of using RPG Maker's preset tiles, etc. It might not be highly detailed or not even to everyone's taste, but I felt like the childlike style of drawings and the even cutesy appearance of the main character just added to the scariness of the game. There are also multiple endings so your experience doesn't necessarily end once you finish the game the first time.

People might underestimate the capabilites RPG Maker games have, but if done right, you can be as emersed in them as any triple A horror title. This game sets up the atmosphere excellently. The ambience and visual are done incredibly well - enough to give you the feeling of being on edge. And it does a great job of luring you into a sense of relaxation during parts that aren't so suspenseful. The sound is also great as well as the voice acting. The Host has some chilling dailogue that is only enhanced by his haunting voice.

This game has jump scares, but they hardly ever felt cheap. A lot of the time they are built up to - you know they'll happen and thats what makes it worse. And there were hardly any parts too difficult that might break the atmosphere of the game (sans a chase scene that might get a little frustrating until you figure it out).

Overall, I very highly recommend this game if you're looking for a unique horror experience. And best of all - it's free. If you are a fan, like me, of RPG Maker horror-themed games like Ib (which I feel this game is at least somewhat influenced by), Yume Nikki, .flow, Space Funeral, or even the Witch's House and Off, I urge you even more to give this game a try.

And make sure to play with dim lighting, headphones, and in full screen or at least large windowed mode for best effect!

So, I swear I'm not in it for the Hunnies, although that's the entire goal of the game. I pretty much bought this game out of curiosity and novelty, and I, surprisingly, got a fun and quirky puzzle game with an added twist. The match-three system is like a mix of bejeweled, pokemon shuffle, and puzzle & dragons. It actually takes quite a bit of thought and strategy, having to consider what items would be right for each girl's date, setting up combos, and making sure you don't run out of moves.
The girl's dialogue is actually pretty amusing a lot of the time. And at least Aiko points out how stereotypical the unique gifts are after I gave her some chopsticks or whatever (We also have the same birthday, I enjoyed that.)
I also liked that I could play as a girl.

Also they get naked.
Good game, would love a dude version, but I won't get my hopes up.

Jazzpunk is a game that I can truly say was a unique experience. I waited for a while to buy it until it went on sale because I wasn't sure about the $14.99 price tag. Although I loved the game and see myself re-playing it in the future, I still feel like the price is still a bit steep. Or maybe I'm just a cheapass.
The game itself is incredibly witty and it never misses a beat of entertaining and wild situations you must play through. It is essentially a walking simulator, but the amount of ways you can interact with the environment were enough to keep it fresh, and the ridiculous tasks that are thrown at you can make you scratch your head at the absurdity of it all. But again, as a walking simulator, it doesn't present much of a challange as far as gameplay is involved. I really liked the fact that you play as a secret spy/detective and you had different missions to play through.
I was surprised at how funny I actually found the game. I figured it would be very hit or miss with the jokes, but the delivery and all of the pop culture references new and old had me quite charmed by the game. And I quite enjoyed the bizarre style of the art and the Japanifornia-esque locations.
I also liked the minigames spread throughout the main game - My favorite was Wedding Quake. Good stuff.

Overall - I loved this game and will probably play it again in the future. My advice? Buy it on sale if you're as cheap as I am.

I got Woodle Tree Adventures for free so I really can't complain. This game claims to be a homage to 3D platformers, and as a person who grew up when these kinds of games were in their prime I can say that this game fails to mimick them. While its cute and colorful, there are a lot of things missing that don't quite qualify it to be on the same level as, let's say, Banjo Kazooie or DK 64 - both games I consider to be the epitome of 3D platform adventures.

Bad news first, I'll start with the negatives.
- It's plain, a little too plain. The cute and simpleness is nice at first but you get bored with it fast. The last two levels are at a beach and a snowy mountain which seem like a nice change of scenery but they also seem to get boring quickly.
- The music is bland and repetitive.
- It has some unfixed glitches. One time I fell through the world because I got stuck under a moving elevator. Another thing is the spawn points seem completely random. If you die, sometimes you're spawned back at the beginning of the level and other times you're spawned near where you died. One time I spawned underneath the level with no way to get back up and had to restart the game and play the level over again.
- The camera perspective can be your biggest enemy. There is a way to control the camera but the only thing it seems to do is zoom in and out. This game seems to depend heavily on parkour skills in terms of difficulty. A lot of 3D platformers do this, but when you can't change your perspective, making precise jumps becomes more frustrating. You will most likely die a lot.
- There is no typical item counter, status screen, etc. It really isn't needed, especially in this game, but you're playing a platformer that has a huge focus on item collecting you want to know how many of that item you've collected in the level so far and how many are left. After you exit a level you can see how many berries you've collected overall but there's no way to tell if you've collected all of the berries in one level and how many you have collected in a particular level. There is also no health bar or lives because there are none. One hit kills you and you have unlmited lives, so there isn't much of a penalty for dying.
- There are no boss battles, every enemy, big and small, takes only one hit to kill. You only have one weapon in the game that can get upgraded depending on how many berries you've collected.
- Very short, it took me about an hour and a half to complete it, and that was with me dying... several times.

There's a lot of negatives but there are some good things about the game:
- Decent control. I didn't have a hard time controlling the character. Most of my deaths were really just because of the bad perspectives and not because the character was difficult to control.
- The game seems to be expanding more and more so there seems that there is possibly room for improvement.
- Despite the large amount of negatives I can't help but find it charming. I actually kind of liked it, but the negatives make me feel like I shouldn't reccomend this game.
- The price is fair. $2.99 is not that much for a game that is still expanding. But at the moment, even with that price I can't reccomend the game. I think it would be best to wait for major updates if someone is interested in buying this game.
- It seems like only a handful of people, maybe just 2 or 3 worked on this game which is an achievement all on its own. With the small size of the staff I think they've actually produced an enjoyable game despite all its flaws.

Overall, Woodle Tree Adventures feels more like an alpha demo of something that is in the works to becoming a full-fledged game. It definitely feels unfinished. It also feels like the age group is geared towards children rather than older, 90's 3D platformer fans. Its simple and virtually has no penalties for dying so it feels like a younger audience would be more interested in a game like this.

It seems like this game is still being updated and I'll probably continue to check out any major updates because as I said: oddly enough I like it, but at this point I would not feel right saying I reccomend it for it feels unfinished.

I grabbed Terraria on sale and I'm glad I did. I think its a great game for anyone who has ever wanted to try an open-world crafting game and has no experience with it. The crafting system is hassle-free and there's a ton of content for a simple looking game.

I have a pet penguin so it gets a 10/10 from me.
