Chechil Czedar was born in Kingston Jamaica on 22 October 1968. He was born to his mother, Brie Czedar (father unknown) and a sister, Chimay. He was naturally talented in music, playing 3 instruments by the time he was 12. His family was quite poor, and schooling was not readily available. Food was scarce, so Chechil performed in bars and restaruants. When he was 15 his family moved to America and found a job as a rapper. He was a regular at “the barn” and this is the period in which he wrote his greatest hit “Boombastic”. He was advised by his peers to publish it, and it topped the charts for 5 weeks. He made enough money to buy his family a sizeable home, and became famous overnight.
