I bought this game on a whim while it was on sale, and let me tell you-- this game is a pure masterpiece and you're doing yourself a disservice by not playing it. The story, world-building, music, voice acting, all of it is just fantastic-- there's so much dialogue throughout the game and so many unique interactions between characters that it almost feels endless. I can't believe I'd never heard of it when it released 4 WHOLE YEARS AGO.

The game's difficulty is balanced extremely well in my opinion. It's hard, but not TOO hard. The gameplay is fast, reactive, and fun. As you learn the game's mechanics, unlock new weapons/upgrades, and figure out how upgrades synergize with one another, you'll quickly find yourself making it further and further with each attempt. The most important thing to do is: KEEP. TRYING. Like any other roguelike, you're constantly getting stronger with each death and learning more about what does and doesn't work while simultaneously learning more about the story and characters. If you ever think you're stuck or ran out of people to talk to, chances are you need to do more runs.

If you absolutely need it, the game even has a function called "God Mode" that DOESN'T make you invincible, but DOES give you 20% damage reduction, with +2% every time you die to a cap of 80%. So if you're a casual player who just wants to enjoy the story but get the feeling that you're getting nowhere in your runs, you can try using that. You don't get penalized or shamed whatsoever for using it, and can turn it off whenever you want. (Don't get the wrong idea though, you're still going to die. A lot.)

Genuinely one of the best and most addictive games I've ever played, and even though I've beaten the main story, there's still a lot more stuff for me to unlock so I don't plan on quitting anytime soon. 10/10 from me, can't wait to buy Hades II when I'm done here.

Edit: I've decided to explain something since I'm the top review and the devs aren't willing to edit the steam page description to inform their own loyal playerbase. I still see people asking when Polus.gg will work again. It won't. The devs have completely shut the servers down for good and ran like cowards. However, if you still want the modded Among Us experience, check out the "Town of Us Reactivated" discord. They've salvaged the remains of the ToU mod and are updating it with fresh new roles every once in a while.

Before the launch of P.gg, the staff tried so hard to hype this modpack up. They shut down the Town of Us discord to move to this immaculately crappy modpack that did nothing but butcher what Town of Us had built up with horrible servers that crashed every 2 days. Not to mention the staff team, in which a literal 16 year old child was put in charge. Apparently they just expected people to blindly throw money at them because not even 2 months later they shut the entire server down without warning because they "didn't get enough money" and ran with everyone's cash without any compensation, not even reopening Town of Us for the long time fans of the mod. The staff team are an absolute bunch of clowns who should definitely feel ashamed for this massive flop. I feel sorry for everyone who was scammed by these fools.

It's very fun. If you like tower defense games I highly recommend it.

Very fun, suspenseful murder mystery game. Although I get incredibly anxious when I'm the impostor, it's still very fun and I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about buying it. It is very much worth your $5.
