Honestly, it's really fun if you don't take it too seriously and build kingdoms you're emotionally attached to rather than worrying about the meta-gaming angle. I like it for the way it lets you DIY your own fantasy settings, and I usually play it hotseat as a co-op game with my girlfriend where we pit our custom designed civilisations against eachother in a variety of different settings. It's a little like Stellaris in that the stories it tells are often more fun than the actual gameplay. If you're into games like that, you'll have a really good time here.

The negativity about this game is very funny. Transphobes of the type depicted in the game *are* members of a genuinely threatening neo-fascist movement, who (with no sense of the irony at all,) *hide* behind the perceived harmlessness of their (sometimes fabricated, often just anonymous,) identities to promote real violence against innocent transgender people, who have done nothing to harm them other than be honest about who they really are and expect that they should be able to live accordingly. The game plays smoothly and feels like a modernized reskin of Wolfenstein 3D with new weapons, secrets, and brand new levels, and for 7.50 AUD it feels well put together and extremely fun to play. The plot of the game also represents a power fantasy based on a genuine fear that many trans women in particular have about the way the world is going in the UK and the USA especially, where public expressions of transgender identity are being legally suppressed and socially stigmatised. So it's deeply topical and satisfying on that level too. I would have liked more variation of the enemies, (especially because the lack of men seems to parrot the transphobic idea of conflating 'all cis women' with transphobes, whereas in reality so much of the movement against trans people is coming from the insecurities and prejudices of cis het men,) and an autosave mechanic to allow for breaks between the levels. However, what is here is very good, and the edgelords and transphobic weirdos getting performatively outraged about it ought to cope and seethe, because this type of satire is exactly what your violent ideology has earned and it is excellent to see it targeted at you for once. Get over it.

Improves the game immeasurably, and the price feels right.

This game is beautiful and I loved the way that you could sort of track the squirrels by exploring the map before you laid the cameras out! My girlfriend (trained as a biologist,) said it felt like doing a real ecosystem study, and the squirrels are lovingly animated to the point they feel alive. I loved the conservation message too. Very good!

I'm a professional sci-fi writer and I really enjoy games like this for their ability to generate to unexpectedly creative random narratives. But I also just enjoy this game? The lo-fi presentation hides not only narrative complexity, interactivity, and freedom that is quite rare even for this genre, but it's also just a really tight, unpredictable, and even calming sort of an experience. It's hard as nails but the stakes for death are low, the mods are good and generally mix seamlessly with the vanilla game, and the character creator is a lot of fun, rewarding player experimentation and making each new run feel different to the last. It's very good.

Excellent audio and visual design mixed with a compelling narrative featuring a heavy focus on neurodiversity and informed consent. The characters felt real enough to remind me of people I've actually dated, and I loved the punk and goth aesthetic. I liked it even more than Ladykiller in a Bind! <3

Adorable, plays well, has a good collection of prehistoric lizards. All in all, very good.

If you have enough ram you can load every steam workshop mod at once and suddenly, your life is full of fishes. You're all aflush with fishy fun. It's an amazing game.
