I have pretty mixed feelings about D4. I didn't hate it, but it's so totally inferior both to its own prequels and dozens of other games in the genre that there's thousands of hours of more worthwhile games to play before you get to it.

The main campaign is completely ruined by the open world. The pacing is a mess, the narrative is disjointed, and large swaths of the critical path are tedious because you're just running through five zones that have no relevance the the campaign to get to the next story beat.

The open wold also hurts multiplayer because it's just incredibly dull and full of typical open world busy work nonsense.

Play D2R, D3, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, Torchlight, Hellsing, PoE, Sacred, etc... before bothering with this.
