It's a mixture of Sims, and Minecraft and fighting games with cute art & plenty of things to do. It's more complicated than the artwork makes it look like. As you go along you gain new recipes, new quests and make friends.

I've played this game forever, and I'm still learning new stuff all the time. I have stuff that I haven't mastered from the original parts (minus newest DLC) because I'm a very casual player and like to enjoy each thing. Tailoring your world to your preferences is a cool thing and installing mods on this puppy are great to enhance playing experience. If you don't like games where when you die you lose EVERYTHING, this is not the game for you!

It's a fun game alone and with other people. I have enjoyed this game since beta testing . However, if you're one to get frustrated easily, this isn't the game for you. It's hardcore survival. And it can be brutal. Co-op play is the best. Working with friends or if you do online is a good way to go. But you can play it offline and LAN it. That way you can play alone if you want to. You don't need Don't Starve in order to play alone.
