Megabonk is not a game. Megabonk is a calling. When I bonk, the universe vibrates. When the universe bonks back, I know I’m on the right path.

O bom e velho The House of the Dead — ou, como a gente chamava lá atrás, “A Casa do Dedé”.

I’ve been running through some old-school kung fu B-movie flicks lately, and this app takes the game to a whole new level. I haven’t used it for long, but I can already see the potential and how it’s going to help me on this saga.

I can't recommend this game. While it was a great experience while it lasted, the developer bricked this version after releasing the full game. For me, that's a seriously, ubi-like, shady move.

I'm definitely not spending my money on the full version, and I'll be keeping my distance from any future releases. What if they release "30 Minutes Till Dawn" and pull the same trick again?

A Shallow and Unnecessary "Enhancement"

As a long-time fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, I wanted to appreciate the Enhanced Edition. I really did. Especially since it was offered for free to those who already owned the original trilogy — a gesture I respect.

But after only a few minutes with it, I have to ask: What exactly is "enhanced" here?

Visuals? Barely different.
Performance? At least in my hardware, worse.
Content? Actually, less than before.

Cut Content for Political Convenience

Let’s be honest: this edition removed certain content for purely political reasons. And that’s disappointing. Real-world events are tragic and complex, yes. But they should not be an excuse to censor or rewrite existing works — especially one so rooted in history and atmosphere like Shadow of Chernobyl.

Art deserves preservation, not revisionism. The original games told stories the way their creators intended. That’s where the emotional weight came from. Stripping parts out only weakens the experience.

A Hollow Shell of a Classic

This edition feels like it exists more for marketing than for players. There’s no meaningful improvement, no new content, and the core experience has even been diluted.

If you're new to the franchise, find a way to play the originals first. Use mods like Anomaly, if you want polish — the community has done a far better job than this release.

If you're a veteran: This isn't the version you'll want to revisit the Zone through. It's not more immersive. It's not more complete. It's just... less.

Final Verdict

Enhanced? No. Sanitized and stripped down? Yes.

This edition is unnecessary. The soul of the game lives in the original releases — untouched, unfiltered, unforgettable. That’s where the Zone truly breathes.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl — The Undisputed GOAT of the Franchise

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl isn't just the beginning of a legendary franchise — it's the game that defined what the Zone truly is. The suffocating atmosphere, brutal difficulty, non-linear storytelling, freedom of exploration, and that perfect blend of the bizarre and the melancholic — no other title has captured it quite like the original.

Even with all the technical upgrades and modernization attempts, Shadow of Chernobyl remains the most impactful and memorable entry in the series. And while I appreciated receiving the new "Enhanced" Edition for free — thanks to already owning the classic games — it's clear this version falls short of deserving that title.

There’s nothing particularly enhanced about it. Visual improvements are minimal at best, and worse: key content has been removed.

The Cost of Censorship

Regrettably, certain narrative elements were stripped from the Enhanced Edition, clearly due to political motivations. And that’s a real shame.

Yes, real-world wars are horrifying, and yes, the suffering they cause is real and undeniable. But they do not justify rewriting or censoring art — especially art that already existed long before recent events. Shadow of Chernobyl, like the rest of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe, is steeped in context. To edit that retroactively is to diminish its emotional impact and erase part of what gave it meaning.

A Personal Memory That Will Never Fade

Almost 20 years have passed since my first encounter with a Controller — deep in one of the Zone’s claustrophobic underground areas. And to this day, I still remember the sheer terror and helplessness I felt.

That moment wasn’t just scary — it was unforgettable. It wasn't scripted horror. It was the game gripping you, pulling you into its world, and never letting go.

No other game has ever made me feel that vulnerable. And that's not nostalgia — that's a testament to the unmatched design and atmosphere Shadow of Chernobyl delivers.

The GOAT of the Zone

Shadow of Chernobyl is the true GOAT of the Zone — and it deserves to remain so for many years to come.

Not because it was first. Not because it’s a cult classic. But because it earned that title, through raw immersion, haunting storytelling, and an experience that refuses to be diluted or forgotten.

If you want to understand what makes this franchise legendary — start with the original. Accept no substitutes.

Crashes Deeper Than a Dreadnought’s Lair - Not Recommended

Look, I wanted to love Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. The core gameplay? Fun as hell - digging, shooting, surviving, all with that DRG vibe I adore. But here’s the kicker: the constant crashes sink this game faster than a cave collapse on a greenbeard. It’s not just a minor annoyance; it’s a dealbreaker. You’re grinding through levels, feeling the rush of a good run, and then - bam - frozen screen, force quit, progress gone. Happened to me multiple times, including twice in a row on the final stage. That’s not bad luck; that’s a broken game.

The potential here is massive, but it’s drowned in technical issues. I’ve officially retired this one to the back of my library until the devs step up and fix it. This isn’t the rock-solid standard I know from Ghost Ship Games. Those folks built a reputation for quality with the original DRG, so the partner devs here need to take a page from their book when handling this IP. Right now, it’s a buggy mess that doesn’t deserve your time—or your credits.

Rock and stone… when it works.

A Timeless Masterpiece in Gaming, and Ubisoft’s Lost Legacy

Assassin’s Creed II is a true masterpiece of its time, representing a pinnacle of action-adventure gaming. It brought to life an unforgettable story filled with rich historical settings, engaging gameplay, and compelling characters - most notably the iconic Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Ezio’s journey from a young, brash nobleman to a wise and capable Assassin is filled with emotion, a sense of growth, and complexity. He’s not just a protagonist; he’s someone players can relate to, admire, and root for. His wit, charm, and deep sense of justice make him one of the most likable characters in gaming history. Unlike some modern games that struggle with forced representation and box-checking of "qualities", Assassin's Creed II focused entirely on delivering a captivating story that was both timeless and universally enjoyable.

The game’s setting in Renaissance Italy was brought to life with incredible attention to detail. From climbing the rooftops of Florence to exploring the canals of Venice, the world felt alive and immersive. The game balanced exploration, combat, and stealth in a way that kept players constantly engaged, and the fluid parkour mechanics were revolutionary for their time.

Beyond its technical achievements, Assassin's Creed II stood out for its strong narrative and character development. Ezio's personal quest for revenge and his deeper understanding of the Assassin’s creed provided an emotional core that drew players in. Each supporting character, from Da Vinci to the villains of the Templar Order, was memorable and added important layers to the story.

Great were those times when games prioritized creativity, strong storytelling, and player immersion - qualities that, sadly, have become harder to find in Ubisoft's current offerings. They shifted their focus and have lost their touch, burdened by misguided priorities. Ubisoft now lay down in what feels like a creative graveyard, with bloated games and uninspired design choices.

Perhaps the only salvation for Ubisoft’s once-beloved IPs would be for a DEI-SBI free company to acquire them and restore them to their former glory, giving them the treatment and respect they deserve.

A return to the basics could be the key to reviving these iconic franchises. It’s a long shot, but one can hope that someday, Ezio’s legacy will be honored again.
