If not game of the year, they’re definitely going to win something this is for sure.

I have a 4070 ti oc and I'm playing this game from my Steam Deck streamed through my PC at max settings. I have constant 120fps and the game runs great. Graphics wise, it's nice but I also just came from Black Myth: Wukong which set the new standards pretty high, so if you were to compare the two - it's gonna probably feel like FF XVI is lacking quite a bit in this department. The story is compelling, and the ARPG isn't super challenging (yet) - failing bosses isn't as punishing and you typically don't have to restart an entire fight from the start.

Controls aren't too complicated to learn and the GUI makes it easier to understand. (Using a Nintendo Pro Controller)

Not open world like Cyberpunk or Skyrim, getting around is pretty convenient and straight forward - you're not likely to get lost or get lost for very long anyway.

The only real complaint I have about this game is the capped 30FPS during the cinematic cutscenes - it is painfully noticeable which almost feels like stutter/lag. I read some comments about the FFXVI fix not doing anything and that it still looks bad, can't say that I got the same results - those cutscenes became much more enjoyable and fluid when I uncapped the frames. Bear in mind though, I do have the luxury of a pretty good PC.

EDIT: So after putting some good hours into this game, seems like there are some issues with PC. Some people including me are getting crashes with "Error: Access Violation (Read)" and it can get quite annoying. I've seen some other crash messages here and there as well, but this one is the most prominent one. As of writing this edited review, I have the latest drivers, and I've tried a number of so called "fixes" but to no avail really. This is a great game when it works, but it's very unfortunate when it doesn't.

I'll still say I recommend it... I guess, kind of iffy on it until the crashes get fixed.
