I've been learning how to play this game for a long time. This week (September 29th as of writing) I sat down and did my very best to learn as much about it as I could through trial and error, as well as watching other people play it (Blind has many tutorials on how to play). I've hardly mastered it and probably won't any time soon but it has become my favorite game. I understand it enough to know how to play it and do a ton of stuff. I get it now. It's totally worth it if you have the time and patience to learn how to play. There's always something that needs to be done and time simply melts away. It's a beautiful game in its own way and the most fun I've had while playing a game in a really long time.

I was expecting something at least semi realistic, but this has some of the worst animations. It's all jerky and awkward, not satisfying and not realistic at all. As someone who has spent a chunk of life actually skateboarding, I can say this doesn't even come close to feeling of actually skateboarding. The best skateboarding game I've played so far was the first Skate game. It was by far the most legit experience. Although it is unfortunate, it's the best skateboarding game we've got right now on PC. Don't expect realism. 15 minutes was all I needed to see.

Sure the game is fine, but the story is garbage. What's with the smile parade? We're off to fight this big bad demon guy but before we do that, we need to have a smile parade? I don't think so.

So far I have nothing but love for this game and the series as a whole. Instead of fighting for your sanity like in the first game, you're fighting for your soul. It's an improvement from the first one, but don't skip it. You don't have to play the first one, but having the ability to bring your character from one game to the next is a really great feeling. If you skip the first one, you'll miss out on a lot of the lore about the numerous gods and characters that show up in the game. If you have the time, start with the first one before jumping into this one. It's better that way.

The first match I joined I died immediately at spawn over and over again from more than one person wallhacking. That's all I need to see.

I posted a review back in EA about how I had never gotten my money's worth from a game like this one. It's still true. Every hundredth hour has been worth it. This game didn't and continues to not disappoint. You've already heard of this game. Stop reading the reviews and just buy it already. If you like games like Dwarf Fortress or Banished, this game is for you. Stop procrastinating and pick it up. The DLC's are good too. I haven't played all of them but I'm sure I will pick them up at some point.

Possibly the best turn based strategy. Be sure you have a lot of free time.

Save your money for Planet Coaster. That game is still in alpha and already runs way better than this. This game is not what we want or deserve. It's poorly optimised, the graphics are similar to rollercoaster tycoon 3, the character models are ass, and all around its just a mess. Maybe later on down the road I'll change my review, but as of now, I do not recommend it to anyone unless you actually want to help with developement.
