I'd recommend this game, as it is fun but with the caveat that there is a constant time crunch to get specific potions prepared to a high enough quality in time for a competition every 10 days. This means you're not really able to casually enjoy the various mechanics of the game and instead are trying to figure out how to maximise the speed with which you're able to get those potions created.

Because of this I'd rate it probably about a 7/10 for me, as I was hoping for more of a cozy feel. It's a good game though, solid otherwise and if you prefer having constant short-term goals to work towards rather than a more relaxed cozy game you'll probably rate it higher than me!

I love this game. It's a simple, fun roguelike. It's not a game you can play for hours on end, but great to pull out every now and again to try and beat your last score. You can upgrade your clone after every mission, plus bring a limited number of items with you on each quest.

If on sale worth it to buy, but I wouldn't pay full price. The game is good but not amazing - a good story though not terribly unique and the characters are written very archetypically. The game is a bit short, though once again if on sale a good length for the money.

I wasn't a fan of the level up system which left absolutely not customisation options except for the two class changes/selections.

My main gripe with the game is simply I found it too easy (played on normal) until the very last boss which I can't get past. Obviously I need more upgrades but if I was going to struggle so much on one fight I should have at least found the others difficult. I went from defeating enemies with ease to trying 10+ times and not even getting the last boss below half health.

Pillars features a play-style reminisent of old school RPGs such as Baldur's Gate, but with a new story and more modern graphics/interface. A few different difficulty levels for people who prefer a more relaxing game style or conversely those who prefer a very challenging game. Excellent story-line, loads of character classes and races available. Build a stronghold, create companions or simply find them along the way.

This game is quite simply fantastic.
