I've put in who knows how many hours during closed & open beta. This game captures something that no other game has pulled off quite as well. Devs seem pretty open to walking back unpopular changes.

Gameplays is fun but unfortunately the game is always online. That means if you're playing solo and Steam goes down, you get kicked out and cannot play normally.

My aim going into this was to engage with the game as if it were a hero/arena shooter. So far I've found the combat to be very fun and engaging. Good variety of mechs to choose from each with their own weapon kits. New mechs can be unlocked with the free currency, and can be trialed for 7 days for free. Seems like challenges are a good way to accumulate this currency so far, so it doesn't seem farfetched to unlock each mech through regular gameplay.

The extraction mode seems to be a bit of a mess, so if that's all you're interested in I'd stay away. Otherwise game is super fun.

Played a lot during and just after open beta, and quit due to card acquisition being among the worst of any cards game I've played. After hearing about changes to the economy, I tried picking up the game again. Still the same story. If they haven't fixed anything by now, they're not ever going to change anything that matters. Skip this game.

Really solid deckbuilder, excellent polish. After sinking a fair amount of hours at this point and getting a couple of wins, I really think the reviews regarding difficulty are overreacting. I have died plenty, but most of these deaths could have been prevented by me paying closer attention to the board state and the positioning of my characters. There's certainly fights that seem unwinnable, but this is mainly due to mistakes in deck building, which is similar to games like Slay the Spire. The meta-progression feels really nice, and overall the game is a lot of fun.
