I never played it before, I usually love boomber shooters, but this one is terrible. And I dont know if this "remaster" improved anything, but if it did... holly jesus then the original was torture... because this one already kinda is. I can really not point any "positives"... Maybe the "enemy variety"? there is variety there but the quality of the models/sprites and the behaviour is dog garbage. the music is alright until some squizo music starts playing non-stop. there are only 5 guns, and only 1 is useful, and there is no alternative fire. barebones as all hell. also the bullets hit below the crosshair for some reason. the locations are interesting and full of secrets, maybe that could be taken as a positive. the "map" you can use is only slightly useful. to check unexplored zones, but since you cant zoom, you will have to run everywhere to check anyways... there are a few very cryptic "puzzles"... and there is a ton of backtracking. 0 tutorial and 0 indications whatsoever. 9999 locked doors and 9999 types of keys. No checkpoints, so if you dont actively save, you are done. The hud is straight ugly.
this game is a nightmare in a bad way, made me sick.

Im kinda stuck on the penguin level, I think its 6 or 5... And there are no NEW better upgrades available in store so yeah... it gets kinda stale. I guess im supposed to keep trying and saving lives.
That is my first "negative" observation.
My biggest complain tho is the characters talking NON STOP during the levels. I mean cmon who tought it was a good idea??? and the nature of the game being you have to repeat levels it makes you feel like you are going insane, of course I disabled the voice and subtitles so you can easely fix that.
But if you dont mind playing the same levels a few times until you can beat it and you mute the voices this game is amazing, graphics, gameplay, sound, enemy design, ship upgrades... everything is fun.
6/10 with voices
8.5/10 without voices.

I purchase this to enjoy a lil game on a sunday afternoon.
I was happy at the beggining and it was fun.
But closer to the end a few levels are just ANNOYING AF.
And the final boss is unfun and the voice actor is the worst I have even heard in my entire life.
So I went to "having fun" playing the game, to hating it.
And even after finishing the game, they decided to make you watch a JPEG while another bad voice actress lore dumps you, what tf do I care about all that nonesense? make it shorter or make it skipable, its just dumb game lore.
Sound, gameplay, pixel art is alright. But some levels, the last boss, and the voice acting is unnaceptable.

unique gem of a game. puzzles and backtracking get a lil hard.
but the whole vibe and gameplay is awesome.

This is gameplay.

This game is not true to MS roots.
Its a mobile game with 9999 ways to make you spend money.
With mobile controls and mobile UI.
The only thing that is MS about this are some characters/vehicles and enemies, everything other thing about this game is mobile BS.
Its only fun if you are looking for a game to play a lil bit daily. Cuz that is what this is. You have limited "stamina" so you cant play as many times as you want the more rewarding game modes, and the ones that you can play without stamina you cant progress because you need more power.
So yeah thats about it.
