The game is so much fun, it's a perfect blend of old-school design with modern conveniences. I love the encounter designs, the enemy AI, the gun handling, and it sure helps that the music slaps the entire time you're shooting.

Funny writing, cool classic Snatcher style, great soundtrack. A chill game to sit back and relax to. Recommended.

Playing the single player, you'll quickly realize: this doesn't play like Doom.

However, it DOES play like Quake 3.

Every fight is mapped out as if they were Q3A arenas. And y'know what: that's pretty fun.

Incredibly fun. Planning an efficient network is deceptively complicated, despite the apparent simplicity of the game, and such a joy. It distills transport network planning to its core and pumps it straight into your veins. Takes all of my concentration for minutes as soon as a new station pops up on screen!

I'm completely addicted.

Works well with mouse and works just as well if you have a touch-enabled laptop/tablet/convertible!

It's fall-out-of-your-seat funny. It's the right length. It never burdens you. It rewards you for being adventurous. My only complaint is that the movement speed can be too slow, and my compulsion to explore every nook and cranny and click everything made it a drag in some places. The gags that were rewards were worth it though.

As you can see, it took me about 3 hours to get through the whole game. You be the value judge for yourself, but I've spent more on games that didn't offer half the entertainment value this does.

Quite recommended!

It's every 16-bit game you ever loved, and it's even better than you remember them.

Everything about this game screams "labour of love." Immaculate spritework. Absurdly well-thought out, multi-layered level design. Ingenius, perfectly balanced boss encounters. A soundtrack so inspired I purchased it immediately after the 2nd level. A story straight out of a 90s Saturday morning cartoon show. (... for better or for worse - and if you think that's for the worse, hop in the Classic mode)

Freedom Planet does something to me that no other game has done, not in a very long time. It is difficult to express. It just... *feels* good to play. The motion. The attacks. The sound. Something woven into the core fabric of every facet this game. It's not just well done, it FEELS good. It feels *right*.

If I were James May, I'd call it a fizzing sensation.

If you grew up a child of the 80s or early 90s - your gaming early years have returned. Most impressive of all, is that Freedom Planet is no mere homage. Not just a love letter. No nostalgia trip. It is not retro. It stands proudly on its own accomplishments.

Games like this don't come around often. Simply outstanding.
