This game is very polished and satisfying. Perks could use a bit of balancing but that doesn't detract from the fun. Finished the main game mode in under 6 hours, but can see myself playing this A LOT.

Movement felt great, but the map design just doesn't work for me. I can't keep track of where I've been. Areas are not distinctive enough and there are too many branching paths. Conquering the terrain becomes a chore when you put in effort and are only rewarded with the realization that you can't progress due to missing upgrades.

First impressions are everything and this was a bad first impression.
- Forced Bethesda login
- DOOM 2016 sets the mood perfectly in the first 3 minutes. DOOM Eternal fails to hit this mark completely. Also doomguy has a spaceship now and we get a casual face reveal after not knowing what his face looks like in DOOM 2016, wut?
- Level design feels weird and artificial for the setting. As if the world purely exist to pace the player instead of existing separately from the player.
- I am not interested in ammo management
- Pole jumping feels out of place
- Hallways with cannon shots that you need to dodge is a stupid gimmick
