Fantastic game, took most of the criticism from AoD turned it around. I like the freedom much more in this game. Will write more later.

Great game with a ludicrous amount of choices, that can be impactful till the very end. The game takes place in an alternative Roman empire that follows a cataclysmic event. I found that there was a considerable amount of detail placed in the world building, but personally I only really paid attention to the context surrounding the player. I did two runs: one completely violent and one pacifist (from the advice of the developers). This was essentially hard and easy mode respective. While fun, I found that this binary approach was not reminiscent of previous cRPGs which allow for mixing and matching different skillsets to progress through the story. However, you could still choose who you wanted to support regardless. Some of the attribute checks throughout the game I found a bit silly and would completely deter you from a path if you did not have the required amount (I.e. figuring out an ending and failing cause I was missing a single attribute point). Regardless the combat was pretty decent but nothing special, environments were nice despite looking like Runescape 3 and exploring the world was a joy. After playing Colony Ship I see they fixed a lot of the short comings from this game and had a blast. Regardless, if you like great world building / writing, feeling like a nobody, and want your choices to matter, pick this up!

Fun game, however this nostalgia for an OP boss (Yeti project) which requires either a specific build or blind luck even on normal is silly. But other than that great but grindy game.

I've been on a sort of spree recently with top-down CRPGs and this game sets a new bar.

You play the son/daughter of a politician in a fictional roman timeline, traversing new lands and making choices that will impact the Republic for years to come. This was definitely on the longer side of a CRPG but it never faltered or became tedious. I was deeply engaged by the intricacies of the characters and the conversations about philosophy, statehood, and geopolitics. All the characters had interesting perspectives on the situations that would come forth and could help steer or deter your chosen action. The game had phenomenal voice acting for such a small company and they all played their part wonderfully. For me the story, choices and characters were the driving force for such a compelling game.

The environments and locations you visit are nicely done and at no point did the graphics deter or distract from the core of the game.

The combat, war, and camp systems were fun but besides a few trick encounters could be relatively completed with ease once you find your strides with your characters.

Nonetheless, I am deeply impressed by this game and have to give it a very high score of 9.5/10 due to really hitting home with writing of both the story and characters in this fictional Roman world.

Client-side issue still persist, ball will bounce around randomly and teleport. Considering $30 game greatly disappointed in it's performance. Should be free with battle pass. Need to add additional modes (i.e. ranked 4v4) Shame on the Sifu developers.

I really like this game, I really do. But currently it's not in a position where I can recommend it fully. With most of core gameplay implemented, I feel like it struggles to hit that core loop of looting, scavenging, and improving your ship/clones. By the time I was able to start upgrading my ship and begin aiming at improving my arsenal, the system was reduced to a few corporations with barely any missions to come by. I would move across the system only for the mission to expire.

While an argument can be made for you to play a neutral player and keep the status quo of power between corporations. The endgame needs to be tweaked a bit to support the players choice in supporting only a couple corporations, since the game emphasizes this play style due to the tech level system incorporated. This doesn't require an overhaul but necessary tweaking of mission variety and quantity and maybe an "endgame threat" to keep it fresh. Since I believe at this stage of the game the exciting part comes from customizing and leveling up the guns/armor/clones/classes, which come from grinding missions and min/maxing. However, with no missions to play my only option is to reset the game and play neutral.

I'll come back to this game in sometime since I love extraction shooters; hopefully the endgame improves a bit.

Edit 0.95: Worse than I remember it, to keep the status quo of power you inevitably have to go against getting technology levels/credits and making your mercenary stronger. By the time I completed 14 missions the game had a quarter of the factions with a few so far advanced. Similar to my compliant above this game slaps you in the face for both thinking in the long-term and the short-term, I can't even try any of the new updates (augmentations, colonies) because the core power loop cannot work in the late-game and becomes insanely stale. Keep away until devs address balancing.

Unique and creative art style, designing an open world around the Greek mythos is not something I've seen before. Despite the simplistic combat the game does a good job at keeping it interesting with puzzles and upgrades.
