I've held off on buying this game for a while - I have played a lot of Total War in my time, and played Warhammer as a kid, so that's a little surprising. However, what I was really waiting for was the High Elves. What I would say is that this game has a lot more *flavour* to it than a lot of other TW titles - the different factions feel very different and operate in very different ways. Also, I find the challenge considerably greater than some other TW games - the pirate and chaos factions are a lot harder to deal with than similar rebel factions on other games. Additionally, I think the creation of the Mortal Empires game, with factions from Warhammer 1 and 2 is a really good thing. I am off to play Skaven next, which I am looking forward to massively.

If you are a history and politics (especially communism) junkie like me then this game is perfect. The basic premise is taking decisions to take one of the eastern bloc or other communist countries from 1989 in different directions, be it further to the left (like I keep trying and failing to do with Hungary) or whether to make the transition to full market economy (like I basically never try to do ever, because why bother?). I found this more straightforward and playable than crisis in the Kremlin, and with more variety, but that might just be me. Anyway, I love this, and it is barely any $£, so you should get it.
