I've owned this game for years, playing every now and then. Always enjoyed it, thought it was a brilliant idea. However, the publisher removed the launcher to actually start the game leading to huge issues faced by the community where people could not even get the game to launch. After hours and hours of trying every trick in the book, I managed to get the game to start again. Now, just one month later, there are new issues and the game has become un-launchable... Again...

2K and Steam are aware of the issue, offer no support and are likely doing this to encourage the player base to stop playing Civ 5 in favour of Civ 7 that is due to be released soon.

Poor way to look after the community that have played and supported the game for years. Even worse to still be selling a game in a condition that means it cannot even be launched once purchased.
