servers suck. should have been set up like payday 2. guess I'm going back to payday 2 until they can fix their stuff and get things working decently.

CORE GAME: now i have put over 400 hours into this game and though the game does have its issues. At it's core the game is very enjoyable the larger modding community that is around this installment of Hoi does also increase the playability of the game I've been able to find a mod for just about every part of the game that you could find. Now the biggest point of contention I tend to find is the AI and though it has undergone a lot of improvement since the games first release there are still many things I'd like to see changed or improved upon that are most likely going to be patched int in future updates. Now the good thing is that they are very proactive toward updating and fixing the game to more of the comunities interests rather then just doing random things to the game. the only other real thing im really negative on is the massive amounts of ingame lag which is prevelant for even higher end systems like mine. From what i understasnd this has to do with the Clauswitz engine that they use and that it is very prone to memory leakage during the late game, however, this is also something the devolopers have been actively worked on and though I don't know if the problem will ever be solved in its entirety it will hopefully be remedied more.

DLC: now i should put a DISCLAMER here because at the time of writing this reveiw only togther for victory has come out and death or dishonor is still about a week away from release so i will edit this when death or dishoner comes out if my oppionion changesd. As of right now the DLC Togther for Victory is not wroth the 15$ it is priced at ive played plenty of games with addons that were 15$ a pop and the amount of content just doesnt add up there really isnt enough here more me to say that it's worth 15$ the only real major thing that the DLC brought was the puppet syatem which I feel should have been include4d at release instead of shoehorned in later for DLC The battlog which you get for free but certain parts are locked off from a player who doesnt have the DLC is also a bit of a bad move and the focus trees should have been added for free as many people have made plenty of mods for focus trees and even then some countries like new zealend or south africa can feel unplayable to someone who iusnt skilled with expoiting every part of the game they can. Now for a little bit of a not on the upcoming DLC Death or Dishonor though its not out yet it does promise to introduce a lot more in the way of mechanics and just other general content then Togther for Victory and also the 5$ off the price tag also makes it a lot better of a blow for a DLC.

PROS: fairly accuarete or inaccurette (depending on the ai and player) simulator of world war 2. things like combat doctrine and airpower make much more of a diffrence with your playstyle and preformance then HOI 3. satisfying country build up as it does really feel that you are running a massive war machine especially with the reworked production and procuerment of an army. the national focuses are a nice mechanic and a solid way to help the player in their endevers with the system being over powered at least on the vinilla sidfe of things. The goverment system also feels like a nice thing to have been reworked and even though it may have not been enteriely historically accurate like how usually the soviets enlisted teams instead of companies for the designing of tanks but its still nice to have Henschel designing my tiger tanks.

CONS: the ai, lategame processer lag, and the lackluster at best DLC content

Summary:
though I have hit the game the reason why im giving it a recommendation is mostly due to the fact that the game is good in it's own right and is only bound to improve over time with more free patches which all the patches that haver come for the game I'm extremely happy with as they actrually fix issues the player base has had with the game. I'd say as of right now the base game is worth the 40$ price tag as it stands and I really think it's a must own even if you you are skeptical I'd suggest waiting for a sale is a good idea, however, The DLC situation as of right now is pretty abismal and i would not suggest the DLC unless it undergos a price drop or is on sale cause its just not worth the 15$ it costs as of right now.
