Man, I am writing this mid crash out because I keep forgetting how much I hate this game.

I completed the story within about 10 hours and couldn't wait to finish it because it was so boring and has absolutely no depth. Once I finished the story, I put it down for about 2 years and then remembered that I had unfinished achievements so I thought I'd give it another go. Big mistake.

The map is empty and so confusing. There are locked trails and loops and dead ends. There is also no way point, just a useless blip on the screen telling you which direction it is but not how to get there. So you need to open the map every time you reach a junction to check which way it is. But, like I said, there's dead ends and loops so you may just not be able to get there and double back three times before going the whole way around the map to get somewhere.

If you even slightly miscalculate a jump over water, or onto a ledge you will be forced to respawn and repeat until you get it right.

Why does everything need a building? Why can I not just change my tack without having a large or medium stable? I still haven't even figured out how to change my own clothes. I assume I need a large house.

Every time you enter or exit some shade you get absolutely flash banged for no reason.

Now for the positives of which there are very few. The style is unique, not necessarily my cup of tea but it's not bad graphics as such (though there are some random goats that just don't fit the style at all?? Someone ought to be fired for that blunder). I appreciate the atmospheric features like the visible breeze and how cozy it feels generally.

Overall, I've seen a lot of people that DO enjoy this game but you have to be prepared for all of those negatives which I just can't get past. Do not recommend, there are way better horse games out there.

I'm actually really enjoying this game, but that's coming from someone who is a sucker for crappy horse games. I believe to play this you need to be a horse fan that isn't too serious about gaming since there's no story line and it is very simple. I find the controls...interesting, but its not as hard as other reviews have claimed. Only took me about an hour to master.

Pros:
- Good graphics (considering the type of game it is)
- Cheap
- Awesome showjumping courses and jump designs
- Realistic dressage gaits
- Relaxing 'Ride out' option
- Easy to go at your own pace
- Good horse designs

Cons:
- Lack of horse choices
- Not challenging enough
- Repetitive
- Unrealistic cross country courses

I bought this game yesterday and I haven't had too many issues. It will occaisonally be laggy for 15 minutes or so but will return to normal afterwards. It's not too annoying so I haven't felt the need to download any mods and I have a crappy laptop...

In my opinion this is one of the best dlcs and I recommend it. If you're unsure then I suggest buying it when it's on sale. Definitely worth the risk.
