I have 7,000 combined hours in this damn game.
I love it and you will too.

CS2: Sometimes I feel like I'm playing CSGO, other times I feel like I'm playing a mobile ripoff of Valorant. So many of the design choices from CSGO like model leaning and regular netcode calculations didn't make it over, still haven't made it into the game somehow and they still refuse to confront the cheat market. I also highly detest Valve's manipulation of the cosmetics grey market, so much so I oftentimes refer to the "Arms Deal" update as a death knell of the generation that Counter Strike came from.
Is CS2 playable? Sure, you can jump on and wait in queue for about 10 minutes for competitive MM or go right into an XPlay dm and get your fix of gunplay but you will undoubtedly run into a cheater during your session. Some of the more neurotic members of the community do actually go out of their way to obscure the fact that they're cheating on top of a slew of other really head-scratching behaviors.. Hell, CSGO made it on national news by way of some kid spinbotting on Aim_botz on camera. I think that says it all.
To top it off, this game is and always has been a mess BUT the more sensible members of the community and core gameplay is what could eventually make the negatives even out. Nothing feels like Counter Strike except for Counter Strike.
My recommendation ultimately is to avoid this game if you're looking for a light-hearted experience or a gentle community, nor can I recommend this game based on the way Valve handles business and development of the game. Valve never appreciated the community.
