JaReads is a free Japanese newspaper app that translates the kanji and separates them by grade.
Earthlingo is a free Japanese game both on Steam and as an app. You roam around looking at objects to get their kanji/kana. Cars drive by. People walk about. Birds fly overhead. Buildings reach into the sky. You can go into homes. Virtually anything can be looked at and learned.
