The term "furry" is so massively broad and encompasses so many vastly different things, that it's impossible to accurately define what exactly "furry" means.
I loves me some anthro animal porn, but I'm not involved with the fandom at all. I'm not obsessed with animal stuff, I don't wear ears or tails or "furry" t-shirts, I don't go to furry conventions, and I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate fursuits. I don't treat it like a lifestyle, I just like the porn, that's about it.
Though as seen with >>4668564 , most people will consider you a furry just for liking anthros, no matter how involved with it you are.
As a comparison, does watching a Star Trek movie automatically mean you're a "trekkie" ? If you enjoyed the Harry Potter books, does that mean you're a "potterhead" ?
It all depends on how interested you are in the material.
