Got banned for 24 hours for no apparent reason; asked support what the reason was:

"We've verified that account REDACTED has been penalized due to an environmental anomaly. Please check your device environment and avoid using virtual machine software, such as Linux or emulators. Once you've verified that your device environment is functioning correctly, you can try repairing the game client/uninstalling and reinstalling it. If you continue to have issues, please feel free to contact us with more detailed information for further investigation (e.g., the problematic video, specific device model, and platform)."

I.e., they ban you for using "virtual machine software" such as Linux.

Edit: 17.09.2025 - To clarify, the game was fully playable on Linux before the most recent patch as of this edit, the developers did not mention that Linux would all of the sudden not be supported (at least not in game).

Don't listen to the clowns that say that the game is too hard, they just need to git gud,

Respawn's recent decision to drop Linux support for Apex Legends is a massive slap in the face to their loyal Linux player base, effectively locking us out of a game many of us have invested countless hours and money into. This anti-consumer move shows a complete disregard for player choice and platform freedom, and I can no longer recommend this game to anyone, regardless of their operating system.

Way too many design mistakes to be able to recommend this.
