I don't get all the hate towards this, yeah the ending was rushed and certain elements could of been better, but Sony and/or Insomniac were hacked

One of my favorite games ever made

Easily and arguably the best game in the series at least first time through, brought it back to it's horror roots, shame that capitalism and therefore the audience dictates that 8 after this needed to lean more heavily into action rather than horror afterward, because unless you're dealing with the paranormal/supernatural/eldritch (unless you're a Ghostbuster or a Winchester) you should be able to able to equip yourself in order to deal with any threat, just to fend it off even if for a brief moment. I doubt we'll ever get a game like this ever again in terms of it's perfect balance and direction.

Controls are great, story is great, difficulty is great, it's the ultimate Peter Parker Spider-Man experience and one of the best Marvel games to date. It's so good I beat the game on multiple platforms and got all the achievements.

While the writing and story are good, I can not recommend this game unless you are hardcore into replaying titles over and over again. Why might I see this as a bad thing? I play a lot of games and unless I really like the title, I like variety or my account wouldn't have so many. The baseline shooting mechanics are rather poor given that you get better mechanics through better weapons and better skill points. It's not a flawed design to say the least, but just not to my liking especially given it's definitely not a game I'd be obsessed with. I wish I could give this game a mixed review because when it comes to media in general I'm actually super picky and know that not everyone is the same.

Turtle Power!

While this might be a great video game, I can not say it's a great Resident Evil title, as it took the series and threw it off the rails into typical action trash, over-rated, over-hyped and while it definitely improved video games as a whole, it steered the series into the ultimately wrong direction. In all honesty though, my down-vote only stems because there isn't a 'mixed' option and there's already enough upvotes to preserve this game past the apocalypse and beyond which it's absolutely worthy of because of it being the first behind the shoulder camera alone. All that said, can not approve it as a fan of the series, and while the later 2 entries are arguably worse, this is the one that pushed it into the action-centric focus and pushed the series into unnecessary and un-warranted/wanted territory and anyone who thinks otherwise should be ashamed of themselves because they were clearly never really a fan of RE in the first place and just wanted another action title, with more of a focus on inventory management. I'm sure the remake will do better to preserve the series horror roots.

Do I recommend the game: kind of, do I think it's worthy of as positive of reviews as it's getting? No thus the 'thumbs down'

This is the first Final Fantasy game I ever played. I played it on PS4 when it initially came out and even pre-ordered it, (days-week before mind you I'm not crazy with pre-ordering months in advance) after switching from being obsessed with one particular series and switching over to video games with all the talks and rumors about there being a remake over the past decade+ since the initial E3 tech demo, this easily has become one of, if not my favorite games of all time. This here is literally the one game I have ever felt more emotions over cried upon finishing it....twice.

More like Alone in the Controls, and yes I got this aware of how bad the game is, I'm a sucker for collecting. So if you're interested in bad games, get it, if not, stay far and way clear of this trash and maybe even just watch a playthrough if curious otherwise.
