Lucid Dreams, Violent Screams, and Brotherly Chaos

There’s a fine line between a dream and a nightmare — and somewhere in that blurry, glitching space full of floating eyeballs and boss lasers is Shape of Dreams.

This isn’t your average roguelite. This is what happens when a MOBA, a hack-and-slash, and your unresolved sleep paralysis demon all get locked in a room and told to make a game. And it’s great. Absolutely unhinged. But great.

The Good: Chaos With Family

Gameplay:
Fast. Fluid. Furious. Like if Hades had a caffeine addiction and decided every ability needed 3 modifiers and a post-credits surprise explosion. Every Traveler has a unique playstyle, and the movement is so smooth it feels like drifting through butter made of knives.

I’ve been playing this mostly with my co-op brother, and let me tell you: we haven’t yelled at each other this much since the “accident” in Diablo 2. Except now, we’re strategizing builds, covering each other’s backs, and occasionally watching each other explode into a mist of bad decisions and particle effects. Family bonding, roguelite edition.

Build Variety:
Every run is a slot machine of chaos. 150+ Memories and Essences means we’re never doing the same thing twice. One day I’m a teleporting glass cannon. Next day, my brother becomes a melee juggernaut who accidentally reflects my entire skill combo back at me. Still not over that.

Performance:
After the recent patch, the game runs smoother than a nightmare whispered by Morgan Freeman. No crashes. No stutters. Just pure unfiltered dream mayhem.

WASD Controls:
Yes. Absolutely yes. Enable the preset, and never look back. The devs knew what they were doing. The game feels designed for it — you’ll be dodging, weaving, and kiting bosses like a lucid dream ballerina in no time.

The Fun: Dream Like Nobody’s Watching (But Your Brother Is)

Let’s talk about co-op. Not the kind where your friend AFKs during boss fights — the real kind. Synchronized dodges. Mid-fight resurrections. Both of us screaming “I GOT THIS” while neither of us, in fact, has this.

Shape of Dreams supports up to 4 players, but the 2-player sweet spot? Chef's kiss. It’s pure synergy and sabotage. When my brother builds into a support aura and I go full nuke build, it feels like we’re the final boss. Until we run into an actual final boss. And get deleted.

True Co-op Highlights:

  • Accidentally deleting each other with flaming meteors
  • Tactical revives that end with “I got you—wait never mind I’m dead”
  • Discovering a busted build combo, abusing it, then forgetting how it worked
  • Pointing fingers at each other in defeat screens like it’s a murder mystery

If you’ve got even one other person to play with, this game transforms from “cool roguelite” into “couch-punching co-op therapy session.” In the best way.

The Wishlist: DLC Me, Daddy

Dear Devs,

I don’t want to beg. But here I am. Begging.

Give. Us. More. Stuff.

We want more Travelers. More Essences. More worlds full of boss fights that make us question our builds and our friendships. Slap a DLC on it. I’ll throw money at the screen like a dream-crazed gremlin. Just make sure it has emotes that let me T-pose over my brother’s corpse.

Final Verdict: This Dream Bites Back

Shape of Dreams is the kind of game that pretends to be about strategy, then throws you into a vortex of exploding monsters, dream logic, and the horrifying realization that your co-op partner took the healing aura and is using it purely for passive flexing.

It’s weird. It’s wild. It’s addictively fun. Every run is a new mess of builds, modifiers, and screams. No two games are the same — and no single “meta” will carry you. Which is good. Because in this dream, the rules are made up and the cooldowns don’t matter.

Play it. Especially with your brother. Just be ready for the emotional damage when he “accidentally” blows up your perfect build.

The dream bends to those who shape it.
So shape it into a flaming trainwreck of lasers, bombs, and questionable teamwork.
It’s what the dream would’ve wanted.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria – Dig Deep, Laugh Hard

Middle-earth has given us epic battles, magical rings, and questionable hobbit cuisine - but now it’s time to pick up a pickaxe and embrace your inner dwarf. The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is the survival game you didn’t know you needed, and it’s packed with enough ore, orcs, and occasional chaos to keep you mining for hours. But does it forge a masterpiece or crumble under its own weight? Let’s dive in.

A Hidden Gem in the Mines of Moria
This game feels like stumbling upon mithril when you were just digging for coal. For its price, Return to Moria offers a solid chunk of content that’s both fun and engaging. At its core, it’s a classic survival game with a twist: a loose story thread that keeps you moving forward while you mine, craft, and defend your way through Middle-earth’s most famous cave system.

As you dig deeper (literally), the enemies get tougher, starting with orcs and trolls and escalating to even scarier foes. By the time you’ve built a decent base, you’ll feel like you’ve earned the right to shout, “Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!” every time you fend off an attack.

Cooperative Chaos
Co-op is where this game really shines. Nothing brings friends together like desperately building barricades while someone shouts, “The trolls are coming!” The building system can be a bit fiddly at times, but the satisfaction of creating sprawling bases and workshops more than makes up for it. Plus, the building zones merge seamlessly, letting you connect multiple bases into one massive dwarven empire. It’s like Minecraft, but with more beards and fewer creepers.

A Miner’s Paradise
Let’s talk ore. This game delivers on the mining front with a truly ridiculous variety of metals and materials to dig up. It’s everything you’d expect from a dwarf simulator - gold, silver, iron, and enough rare metals to make Smaug jealous. Managing your resources is half the fun, especially when your workshops automatically pull materials from nearby storage. It’s satisfying in a way that only a well-organized inventory can provide.

Base-Building and Defense
Building in Return to Moria isn’t just about aesthetics (though you can create some seriously cool structures); it’s also about survival. You’ll need to fortify your bases with walls, stone hearths, and defenses to keep the enemies from spawning inside. Get sloppy with your sealing job, and you’ll find orcs crashing your crafting party faster than you can say “Gimli’s beard!”

The Great Balrog in the Room: Performance
If there’s one thing that could drag this game into the depths of Mount Doom, it’s the performance. Even on a beastly RTX 4090, the frame rate is about as stable as a drunk hobbit. One moment it’s running like Legolas on a sugar rush, and the next it’s crawling slower than an Ent on vacation. Hopefully, future updates will hammer out these issues, but for now, be prepared for some inconsistency.

Final Thoughts: Worth the Dig
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a hidden gem that deserves more attention. It’s a classic survival game with a Middle-earth flavor, great co-op gameplay, and enough mining and crafting to keep even the most obsessive dwarves happy. Sure, the performance is shakier than Frodo at Mount Doom, but the overall experience is worth it.

If you love survival games, base-building, or just the idea of shouting “For Moria!” while battling trolls with your friends, this game is a must-play. Just don’t forget to seal your bases properly - or those orcs will remind you why Moria became abandoned in the first place.

Helldivers 2 Review: Would You Like to Know More?

If you’ve ever wanted to live out your Starship Troopers fantasies of blasting bugs, robots, and aliens into oblivion while shouting, “Do you want to live forever?” then Helldivers 2 is the game for you. But let me tell you, trooper - it’s not all glory and victory. Sometimes, the enemy is less the Terminids and Automatons and more...the game itself.

The Good: Service Guarantees Citizenship
Gameplay: The gameplay is undeniably fun, with the kind of gunplay that makes you feel like a true Federation hero. Whether you're mowing down Terminids, shredding Automatons, or turning Illuminates into glowing goo, every shot feels satisfying. There's a rhythm to combat that makes you want to dive into just one more mission - at least until the next crash kicks you out.

Graphics: Visually, this game is stellar. From the desolate, bug-infested battlefields to the shiny, horrifyingly pristine alien worlds, everything looks incredible. It’s so good that you might forget, for a moment, about the premium-priced assault rifle that just set you back half a month's rent.

The Bad: The Bugs (Not Just the Ones You’re Shooting)
Crashes: This game is so immersive that sometimes it decides to fully immerse you by booting you straight to the desktop. The crashes are frequent enough that I’ve started saluting my monitor when they happen, just to keep the immersion alive.

Gameplay-Breaking Bugs: It’s ironic, really. You’re here to kill bugs, but sometimes the real enemy is the mission-breaking bugs that won’t let you complete objectives. Nothing screams “Victory for the Federation!” like getting stuck on a mission because the final target simply refuses to spawn.

The Ugly: Warbonds and Wallet Drains
Super Credits and the Premium Shop: Remember when the Federation promised you a better future? Well, they forgot to mention that most of the game’s coolest gear is locked behind super credits, which you earn at a pace slower than a malfunctioning supply drop. Unless you’re ready to exploit the system (or your wallet), good luck unlocking those shiny toys.

And let’s talk about the premium shop. It’s not just about cosmetics - there are guns and armor in there too, which feels a lot like the Federation saying, “Hey trooper, pay up or enjoy being bug food.” To make it worse, warbonds haven’t been given out freely since launch, so your options are pretty much grind or buy. Service guarantees citizenship, but apparently not a free rifle.

Missing Features: Needs More Razzle-Dazzle
The game is also missing some much-needed customization. Where’s my skill tree to make my trooper feel like my trooper? Why can’t I tweak my weapons to perfection? Right now, the Federation is all about conformity, and it’s stifling the individuality of us brave Helldivers. Give us more tools to stand out, even if it’s just a custom paint job to strike fear into the bugs.

Final Verdict: Only the Gunplay Saves It
I’ll be honest: I only keep playing Helldivers 2 because the gunplay is so good. There’s something deeply satisfying about splattering bugs and lighting up the battlefield. But with the grind for warbonds, overpriced shop items, and game-breaking issues, I can only dip into this chaotic universe in small doses.

Would I recommend it? Sure - if you have the patience of a Federation general and don’t mind occasionally throwing your controller across the room. Otherwise, it’s a mixed bag of epic battles and frustrating bureaucracy.

Would you like to know more? Play at your own risk, trooper. The Federation needs you... and your wallet.

"Guardians of the Sanctree" was a pleasant surprise, and not just because I found myself defending over 300 little birds and their families from a swarm of evil bugs. The game sets you up as a feathered guardian of Sanctree City, where you and your avian allies must protect your towering tree home from relentless subterranean insect invasions. What starts as a simple defense operation quickly turns into a full-blown war for survival, with a dash of humor and a lot of strategic depth.

Resource Management:
One of the key elements of the game is managing resources effectively, and it’s not just about gathering wood and stone. You’ve got to balance the needs for both food and ammunition, which keeps things challenging and forces you to plan ahead. Keeping your birdy comrades well-fed while simultaneously stocking up on firepower is crucial—neglect one and your defenses could crumble faster than you can say "chirp.

Tower Defense with a Twist:
At its core, "Guardians of the Sanctree" is a tower defense game, but it’s packed with personality and some creative twists. Defending your tree isn’t just about building barriers; you’ll also be digging deeper into the ground to destroy insect nests and reinforce your fortifications. The escalating threats ensure that no two waves are the same, and you'll constantly be on your toes as you adjust your strategies.

Unique Weaponry:
The arsenal you get to work with is where the game truly shines. Imagine blasting away at swarms of creepy crawlies with a "Carrot Rocket Launcher" or mowing them down with a "Pomegranate Machine Gun." It’s a veggie-powered armory that adds a lighthearted, whimsical touch to the otherwise intense gameplay. The variety of weapons keeps things fun and encourages experimentation—you never know when that seemingly ridiculous celery spear might just save your feathers.

Final Thoughts:
Overall, "Guardians of the Sanctree" is a quirky yet engaging take on the tower defense genre. It may have a humorous premise, but don’t be fooled—the game demands skillful resource management and strategic planning to fend off the increasingly dangerous insect threats. Whether you’re into defending tiny bird families or just want to see how much chaos you can cause with plant-based weaponry, this game delivers plenty of fun.

An Exciting Journey in Sci-Fi Roguelite Co-op

With the latest additions of an endless mode and a proper skill tree, it’s the perfect time to dive into this sci-fi roguelite gem, especially if you’re a fan of cooperative gameplay.

As someone who loves roguelites, sci-fi settings, and co-op experiences, I had high expectations going in, and I was not disappointed. This game manages to blend these elements seamlessly, offering an exhilarating experience that kept me and my friends hooked for hours.

Gameplay
First things first, the shooting in this game? Chef’s kiss. Each shot is so satisfying you’ll want to whisper sweet nothings to your trigger finger. And don’t even get me started on the ship flying—it’s a dream. You’re not just floating aimlessly in space like a lost balloon; you’re a tactical genius, picking off enemy ship parts like you’re removing lint from your favorite sweater. “Oh, nice shields you’ve got there,” you think as you blow them to smithereens. It’s strategy meets satisfaction, and it’s glorious.

Now, the real magic happens in co-op. Imagine you and your friends in space, trying to decide what to upgrade next while being shot at from all angles. It’s like trying to assemble Ikea furniture during a meteor shower. But that’s what makes it fun! One minute you’re arguing about who should do the EVA (Extravehicular Activity, a.k.a. spacewalk), the next, you’re frantically manning turrets while your buddy is outside collecting loot from an abandoned satellite, praying they don’t get blown to pieces. It’s chaotic, it’s intense, and it’s the kind of fun that makes you question why you even have friends in the first place.

Recent Additions
Let’s talk about the new endless mode. If you ever wanted to see how long you could survive in a never-ending space nightmare, this is for you. It's like a cosmic endurance test that will have you cackling like a mad scientist as you inch closer to certain doom. And the skill tree? Finally, some structure in our space chaos! It adds depth and gives you something to brag about when your friends ask why you spent all your skill points on ship speed instead of, you know, something useful.

Wishlist for the Future
As much as I love this game, I do have a few things on my intergalactic wish list:
  • More Equipment to Construct on the Ship: I want my ship to be like a space Swiss Army knife—fully loaded with gadgets and gizmos. Give me more tools to tinker with!
  • More Unique Upgrade Modules That Alter Weapons: I’m talking about upgrades that turn your basic blaster into a galaxy-ending doomsday device. The more ridiculous, the better.
Conclusion
If you like games that mix strategy with chaos and give you the chance to yell at your friends in space, this is the game for you. With the latest updates, it’s only gotten better. It’s like the developers took all our space dreams and said, “Let’s make this wild ride even wilder.” So grab your crew, fire up the engines, and prepare for the most fun you can have while hurtling through the void. Just don’t blame me if you end up laughing so hard you forget to dodge that asteroid.

Note: I’m ignoring the Epic account requirement in my review since they’re working on removing it.

If you’ve been along for the ride with the previous games in this series, buckle up—because this one’s like an all-you-can-eat buffet of everything you’ve seen before, but with extra toppings. It’s got the same delicious flavor, just more of it, so don’t expect any radical changes to the recipe.

Enemy Variety
The enemy variety in this game is like a monster mash party where everyone’s invited. There are so many different types of baddies that it’s impossible to get bored. It’s like they took a zoo, mixed it with a nightmare, and threw it all at you. Every time you think you’ve seen it all, the game slaps you with something new, like it’s saying, “Oh, you thought you were safe? Guess again!”

Weapon Variety
Speaking of slapping things around, the weapon variety here is massive. You’ve got everything from peashooters to god-tier cannons. But, let’s be real, some of these weapons are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Sure, it’s fun to mess around with them, but when the going gets tough, you’ll be ditching those underpowered duds faster than you can say, “Why is this even in the game?”

Vehicles (AirDiver / Ranger)
Now, let’s talk about the vehicles. Remember how cool the AirDiver and Ranger used to be? Well, now they feel like they’ve been through the spin cycle one too many times. They’ve been nerfed so hard that their main purpose seems to be playing the role of a glorified punching bag. Need something tanky to soak up some hits? Great, hop in. Need to actually get stuff done? Better start running because these bad boys are about as useful as a bicycle in a swimming pool.

Multiplayer Experience
Multiplayer is where things get... interesting. Picture this: you’re lining up a perfect shot on an enemy 500 meters away, feeling like a tactical genius. Suddenly, your brother, who was standing next to you a second ago, gets blown to bits. Turns out, on his screen, he was 500 meters away, right in the blast zone. Who knew teleportation was a thing? Apparently, Epic Online Services did, because the synchronization here is about as accurate as a broken compass. It’s like playing a game of Marco Polo where everyone’s blindfolded and in different pools.

Story
As for the story, there’s a twist that I’m not going to spoil, but let’s just say it’s like the cherry on top of this chaotic sundae. It adds a nice layer of depth, or at least a moment where you go, “Wait, what just happened?”

Final Thoughts
In the end, I still recommend the game, mostly because I like to watch things explode. It’s playable in multiplayer, even if the synchronization sometimes turns it into a comedy of errors. And yeah, it’s a bit pricey, but if you’re into this kind of madness, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. Just don’t expect perfection, and maybe keep a spare controller handy for when things get really out of sync.

The game is absolutely amazing, and that's saying a lot considering it's still in Early Access. From the moment I started playing, I was hooked by the sheer variety it offers in almost every aspect.

Weapon Variety: The range of weapons is fantastic. Whether you prefer close combat, long-range attacks, or something more magical, there's something for everyone. The weapons feel distinct and fun to use, each with its own unique mechanics and strengths.

Enemy Variety: The enemies are equally diverse. You'll encounter a wide range of foes, each with different behaviors and strategies required to take them down. This keeps the gameplay fresh and challenging as you progress.

Boss Variety: The bosses are a real highlight. Each one is designed with care, offering unique challenges that test your skills and strategy. No two boss fights feel the same, and the sense of accomplishment after defeating them is immense.

Visuals: Visually, the game is stunning. The art style is cohesive and beautiful, with detailed environments that draw you into the world. Whether you're exploring dark dungeons or lush forests, the game looks and feels alive.

Coop: Playing in co-op mode is a blast, especially with friends. However, one tip: make sure the host selects the proper server region. The default is set to China, and I think this is causing most of the desync issues that some players have reported. My brother and I switched to a closer server and had a smooth experience. The game is a lot of fun with others, and it's clear the developers have put effort into making the co-op experience enjoyable.

Room for Improvement: While the game is already fantastic, I'm looking forward to even more content. More weapons, more enemies, and maybe one or two additional runes would add even greater diversity to the gameplay. Given the quality of the previous game by this developer, I have no doubt they'll deliver.

Final Thoughts: Supporting this developer feels like a no-brainer. They've created something special here, and I can't wait to see how the game evolves. It's a must-play, even in Early Access, and I'm excited to see what the final version will bring.

10/10 – Highly recommended!
