If you enjoyed the original, the devs have come up with a great successor. Some planets and moons orbit, which changes how you plan defence and can even cut your fleet off if you don't account for this. Factions use unique mechanics in addition to different units and tech trees. Firing arcs are easier to work out. Basically, it's the original game except it doesn't lag to death on larger maps and it's improved in various ways.

If you didn't play the original I feel bad for you.

Edit: Sony backed down, PSN accounts are apparently no longer going to be mandatory. The developers themselves tried to get Sony to pull their heads out of their behinds.
Shooting bugs is great and this game is massively better than the first one. There are currently few rivals for 4-player co-op compared to Helldivers 2.

Developers are dominated by Sony, who have decided to require a third-party account (Playstation Network) even for PC players. Sony only does this so that they can harvest data and/or allow Sony to ban whomsoever they wish. Sony even went so far as to change their ToS before making this requirement.
I didn't need a PSN account beforehand, it's pathetic for the devs to start making demands post-launch. Dozens of countries citizens' can't even have a PSN account.

Highly anticipated and excellent title. It's rare to find such a well-designed and built game in these days, especially on release day.
It is somewhat easier than Frostpunk, however, for those who are making the comparison. Mostly this is due to less RNG overall, and events being very clearly telegraphed as to how dangerous they are.

Hints (no spoilers):
- Bad things happen and humanity is on the ropes. It's up to you to pull everyone's fat out of the fire. Take it as the terrible situation that it is.
- If an ingame event makes you think "haha this sounds dangerous" well, that's because it is. The game will give you indirect hints.
- Assigning extra hours to workers invites risk. Full-on overworking people is very bad and accidents will cripple you with accidents in short order.

Some reviewers seem to find Ixion too difficult, and are rating it poorly as a result.
Pathetic. Get good.

Petroglyph going back to redo their old game, and the nostalgia is excellent.
- Both C&C Tiberium Dawn & Red Alert
- Remastered soundtrack, remastered graphics (switch with spacebar)
- Adds full skirmish AI for C&C
- Map maker
- Workshop support, game files released OGL )so hopefully many mods)

Overall an impressive example at EA not being utterly moronic. If you never played the originals the nostalgia factor won't be there and the game might not win you over - hopefully we get Tiberium Sun and RA2 remastered as well...

The Diablo game that Blizzard is too useless to make.

Only major improvement the devs should make is to allow players without the DLC to play with those who have it. Said DLC is very much worth it, the devs add in new game modes.

If you like games with structure and a set narrative, you'll hate it. If you want the freedom to succeed or fail, then here's one for you. If you like to set your own goals and have at least a little imagination, get Kenshi.

The game claims that you aren't the chosen one, and they've not joking. Get out of town and you'll probably get chunked by the first group of shirt-less bandits you come across (unless you get eaten alive by cannibals). Go get lost in strange landscapes with colossal megafauna while searching for ancient ruins. Outfit and manage your squad as you see fit. Decide you're going to kill every slaver in the world. Build a comfortable base in the swamp and grow drugs, then smuggle said product into cities. Start off as a slave and fight your way to freedom. Play with only a single squad member and steal everything that isn't nailed down before shanking the guards in the ribs when they're not looking.
It's entirely up to you.

Kenshi has had a very long development cycle, and if memory serves correct was one of the earliest Early Access titles on Steam. I commend the developer for sticking to their project.

You already know the gist of this game from the developer's attempts to sell it to you. The only other thing I would note is that there are some "fantasy" units, i.e. units that never saw production but are featured ingame, or were produced in very limited quantities yet you can field ten of them.

Pros:
  • An active multiplayer community is one of Red Dragon's strongest points, along with the gameplay itself.
  • Immense replayability, many army types and nations to choose form (especially BLUFOR).
  • Army customisation with hundreds of cold war era units.

Cons:
  • The AI cheats. Blatantly. It gets more points than you and will sometimes mysteriously know exactly where one (or more) of your units are hiding.
  • The ingame chat community is full of morons funposters, take it with a grain of salt.
  • The game is somewhat hard to get into. However, there are a wide variety of youtube videos and the forums feature a few helpful guides as well.

If the RTS genre were throwing dozens of high-quality titles at me every year, I probably wouldn't have put so many hours into Wargame. But it isn't, so here I am.

If you're in any way an Ace Combat fan, this game is for you. It is in alpha, so it's awaiting a lot more content and polish. That said, it's already shaping up to be a fantastic game.
