ortnite (the actual word is “Fortnight”, but the name of the game is stylized as “Fortnite”) is an online multiplayer videogame in which 100 players do battle with each other on a large map. 100 drop from the sky wherever they want within the confines of a large island, scavenge weapons and building materials, and battle it out as a purple storm forces the players closer and closer together. One of the main features of Fortnite that has allowed it to explode in popularity is the fort building mechanic. Every player has the ability to build all kinds of defensive structures using an extremely simple yet powerful building tool that allows players to place walls, floors, ceilings, windows and doorways within the walls, and more, all very quickly and in the middle of combat. This allows for all kinds of crazy strategies to unfold in the middle of a gunfight, and is basically the bread and butter of Fortnite's success.
