DiRT was a great game; variety, depth, and style combined to deliver one of the best racing titles in memory. The series took a step away from simulation with DiRT 2, using a more arcade-y physics package, gimmicky races and locations, and tacky cameos from Pastrana and Block. DiRT 3 and Showdown...more of the same, if not even worse.

Finally, Codemasters brings us back to the glory days, giving us a rally game worth playing. No nonsense, unforgiving (to a fault at points, and yes, Wales, I'm speaking of you), visually impressive, and just plain fun. I've barely gotten into the game, yet I've found myself with white knuckles multiple times in a Mini with barely 100 horsepower. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

This game will destroy any sort of life you have.

it's drive: the video game minus the sex scenes and plus on the ridiculous amounts of blood and gore
also one bullet kills you so yeah that's the only downside
