Doesn't work well on Linux. Asynchronous reprojection is broken, meaning that if your game starts to lag, you'll get motion sick. And unless you have a lighthouse-tracked SteamVR-native headset (like the original Vive, or a Valve Index) then you'll have to find a third-party driver to use with SteamVR. In my case, that driver is OpenHMD for the original Oculus Rift. Not to mention that the way SteamVR is containerized in the Steam Linux Runtime makes it difficult to use third-party drivers.

If you can, I'd recommend using a tool called "Envision" to install Monado, which can replace SteamVR and works better for a lot of games.

Server issues; in practice, there's a 50/50 chance of the game recognizing your progress after you complete a run. Do not buy

The simple addition of a timer that keeps track of your fastest level speeds and an easy way to compare speeds with your friends has made this game infinitely more re-playable than it would be otherwise

I'm a little disappointing with some of the updates the game has received. For example, the skills in the game are presented in the form of "cards" and you can build a deck before visiting an act. It used to be that you had to pick and chose which cards you wanted out of your deck, only getting one each map, which added a strategic element at the start of an act and gave the game difficulty for early maps. Now you get all 15 of your cards as soon as you enter an act

However, the game is overall great. Would recommend

pay full price every few months on a "free to play game" only for half of the content you paid for to be removed in the next few months

edit: friend bought me the legacy pack, and it's really fun when you don't have to worry about paying full price for content that's going to be removed 'cause the content is already gone

Game runs less than great on my GTX 1060 and R5 1600.

edit: Game runs flawlessly after the 1.0 update. gameplay itself is solid.

Every year or so, I'll consider returning to this game. And sometimes I do. And every year I walk away knowing that the game's fun falls off a cliff after a good few hours of city building without the DLC. And then I will look at the DLC. And I will check to see what the usual sale price is. And I see that the complete collection for the game is still over 100$cad at it's cheapest.

The base game is OK if you can grab it for the usual 12$ sale price, but don't pay more than that. And don't expect a ton of content unless you're willing to fork over a ridiculous amount of money.
