(What I want to do is to change the music that plays during the credits (staffroll.usm) by the one that were in the original game (on PS2). It seemed like an easy task but there are some unexpected problems.) I don't want to put any pressure on you, just asking if this is something you know how to do. Again, thanks a lot for the time you spent on this matter.
Only way to know is if someone can send me a sample video file to examine.
I also tried to extract (didn't work) and encode files in usm (that worked) and make them play ingame (didn't work). I don't know if I can be of any use for this but I'd be glad to help or speak with you about it.
There's multiple versions of .usm files and some of them I have yet to conquer, so I may or may not be able to do anything, but I should at least be able to tell you why existing tools can or can't do it.
Specifically, running its movie files through VGMToolbox outputs corrupt .m2v files that can't be opened or converted with ffmpeg properly. I've made the uneducated assumption that there's some sort of encryption involved, but I'm probably wrong.
I'm assuming you have extensive experience involving .usm files thanks to NieRepack/Vidsquish. If you're willing to help, I'd appreciate it if you added me as a friend and we can talk about it through messages. If not, that's okay! Just let me know. Thanks! c:
Just thought I'd mention this new tool that popped up. It accomplishes exactly what the OP was talking about without requiring any manual editing. Just run the application, wait a few seconds, and it will set up everything for you. Tested and it works perfectly, even in Windows 8! [/quote]
Hey Lulech23, I was hopping if you could help me retrieve the file for this application you commented on back in 2013. The server where it was hosted does not exist anymore, and the dev has disappeared from the face of the earth. Would you still have that file by chance?
