Played FF:T it's great :)

On that note, have you played XCOM or Valkyria Chronicles? Both share a fair part of gameplay with Fire Emblem and are both great games.

The thing with FFV is that Square Enix is horrible at porting games to PC. The images look that crappy because they need to scale them up for higher resolution. It gets to the point where you can see the seams between the tiles :/
Probably the controls are also messed up again but if you have no problem with this two things I think you are good to go.

I don't mind showing my support as long as the game is playable, I agree that the sprites are a bit off-putting but it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I'll just pick it up when it's on sale in the future.

Also I've started looking for where to get FF:T. Likely I'll just get it on my flashcard since I can't be bothered getting my GBA out lol. I also found some balance patch for A2 so that sounds interesting as well. I do mainly play these games for the gameplay after all (which is why I despise Awakening...)

I have yet to play it but I don't like their art direction personally. The kind of half assed new gen indie 2d sprites really turn me off compared to the old school 16 bit graphics, though I guess it's just nostalgia. I mean if you wanna save money you could probably emulate SNES, but if you want dem sweet steam achievements then yeah might as well pick up the Steam copy. Also if you like games like Disgaea, Tactics Ogre, or Fire Emblem you'll definitely like FF Tactics. FFT: Advance on the GBA was OK but A2 was really mediocre.

Yeah, I was thinking about Tactics a lot since I'm the biggest Fire Emblem fanboy you'll ever meet, so I'll pick up one from that series. And about FFV, I might get it here on Steam, but heard it's not really a good port at all. What's your input on that?

Saw your FF Type-0 review. I appreciated you posting it as I'm a huge FF nerd but haven't gotten around to playing any newer ones aside from FF14. I will say if you plan on playing the others you look into FF Tactics for the PS1 (Or the remake War of the Lions on the PSP) and FF5 on the various devices it's available on (Android, iOS etc. I'm partial to the SNES version despite imbalances).
