after playing this for a while and looking back at smite 1, its clearly a massive upgrade at this point and i don't think i could ever see myself going back.

the aspects system, kits for a lot of classic gods have been improved upon in interesting ways, more novel movement types are at the devs disposal with the engine upgrade. lots of interesting new items with active passives. the teleporters after playing with them a while have been a great map decision, theres more build variety, better ingame ui (the menus could use some work still though), better role queueing system. the list goes on in more ways than i was initially expecting when alpha first released.

everything in smite 1 ended up unnecessarily tanky, be it gods, towers, fg etc. if you look back at it, fights were slogs that turned into a war of attrition, this made healers either always overpowered or useless, smite 2's time to kill has been nailed down well, theres an immediacy and a burstiness which can allow skill expression to shine through if you know the limit you can go to. the way camps level up and can grant you unique things like extra minions to tank objectives, also opens up more strategic possibilities.

and on top of all this the devs have been listening to feedback super well, with a show dedicated to discussing any problems that arise every other day they are clearly working had at it, kudos to them!!
