This game is hands down my favorite shooter of all time, for several reasons.

Gameplay
Combat
One thing this game does so well is make the combat feel realistic enough for really nuanced gameplay.
The stealth mechanics are great and your choices as the player have a direct impact on the actions of enemies and how the encounter plays out.
Details like the enemy's reactions to hostage situations and finding a dead squadmate add a lot of depth and are complimented by the superb voice acting. The team really pulled out all the stops for voicing the in-combat lines and out-of-combat dialogue.

Difficulty
There are plenty of difficulty levels to choose from to keep the game challenging as you get better, and the tutorial mission doesn't compromise at all on depth while also teaching you the core mechanics.
One bad thing here is for superheavy enemies like juggernaughts or important dudes, fighting them can be really spammy and not very tactical. It almost always comes down to spamming dual incendiary shotguns at everything until it dies.
Also, if you have the sword DLC, it can be a bit of a double edged knife (bad pun I know) because it makes slicing through waves of enemies insanely fun but also a bit too easy at times.

Variety & Replayability
Trepang2 has a fun collection of weapons and gadgets you can unlock by completing various missions, and weapon parts to find in those missions too.
There are quite a few achievements which aren't absurdly difficult or grindy, except for the difficulty-related ones which can take a lot of dying and trying depending on your skill.
I really like the High Value Targets as an added completion mechanic, which gives you a list of big bad guys to satisfyingly see crossed out as you take care of them.

Story
The story is decent and quite full of nuance and twists that can be unexpected. However, the depth is something that can be expanded on as there are only a handful of campaign missions currently, so I'd love to see some more DLC come out soon.

Graphics & Performance
Graphically, Trepang2 is extremely satisfying at high settings with tons of particles, mayhem and gore everywhere.
There are also some extra options (only accessible as cheats unfortunately) for even more gore and fun.
It plays quite smoothly on my 3070 laptop GPU with no lag spikes at all.
The only stability issues I've experienced were a few crashes/freezes but as long as there's a save you can restart the game and resume without issue.

Final Words
My absolute favorite bit is being able to take a hostage, pull the pin on his grenade, and throw him back into his squad and watch them all blow up!!!
Toying with the enemies can be a lot of fun, and oh did I mention how realistic the voice acting can be?

Feedback
The issues I have with this game are mainly minor details and inconsistencies.
If you wonderful devs read this, please know I really enjoyed this game and fixing these would make it practically perfect.
- If you have the sword DLC, you should be able to take the sword out of Subject 105 in the first mission as there is no other way to obtain it there .
- If you take a riot shield guy hostage, the shield should protect you from damage a bit more than regular hostages.
- Crash Site really needs an autosave before the sniper encounter
- It would be super cool if the limb detachment option wasn't locked behind a cheat and was part of normal gameplay, so for example shooting off an enemy's foot would hinder his mobility but still allow him to turn and shoot and alert other guys.
- Perhaps a prone position for both the player and enemies would enhance the variety a bit.

This game genuinely makes me afraid of messing up and dying to some little turret sleeping in a corner while I'm crawling around with a crappy Hi-Point C9 and 4 rounds in the mag.
