This game has its obvious flaws, but with a few mods this game can be really enjoyable. Dont get me wrong the characters are still uninteresting and the voiceacting in normal dialogues is still really bad. But if you are searching for an open world shooting "sim-cade" that is combat and stealth wise more realistic than most games out there but not as realistic as arma III or red orchestra 2 you may be in the right place.
If you are able to ignore a ridiculous story and a sometimes really empty world give it a shot (pun intended).
Make sure to check the moddb page for far cry 2 before you consider buying it, to see if theres sth. for you.
