One of the best gaming experiences...
...with a slight flavour of wasted potential.


I have to admit, this is truly one of the best games of the whole decade. I like this game. In fact i'm in love with Cyberpunk 2077. But as always there's one big BUT.
Although i have had a great couple of months exploring this dystopian world, even today, in the very end of 2023, at the latest 2.1 Patch with the Phantom Liberty DLC applied almost every single aspect of the game still feels not polished enough to reach an abstract threshold of an "ideal" Action RPG title. This uncanny feeling touches everything, including Story, Gameplay, Sound Design, Graphics, UI and many more. It's all still there after so many years after initial release and it IS visible.

I'm not biased. I'm the biggest fan of CDPR studio and their games so i am completely aware of reasons behind this uncanniness of Cyberpunk 2077's core. All those flaws almost haven't worsened overall great experience, but it has to be said.
Godspeed to the development team with their path to new instalment of Cyberpunk series!

Prey creates unpleasant frustrating impression at the very beginning.

For some mysterious reason crosshair is not centered and slightly lowered on the screen, you can't turn off that annoying motion blur, game's audio is basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ UP. No matter how low volume you set, characters speech still will be horribly loud which makes my ears bleed. It sounds like a poor quality audio file playing in the mediaplayer in the background without any processing. Some objects and textures can flicker in a completely random scenarious.

There's definitely something wrong with this game

💀Hell of a terrible game design💀
Don't know where to start. This game suffers from a poor design in almost every aspect, especially world navigation. There're lots of situations when you intuitively want to rotate your camera to observe all those quite beautiful surroundings or simply check where are you supposed to jump. But there's just NO camera rotation in Lords of Shadow. Simple as that. Developers think like you're playing on Playstation 1 or PSP or something otherwise I can't explain why the hell you're not using second analog in 2010 game O_O


Another frustrating thing. Sometimes core mechanics of the game, such as pillars and jumping just DON'T WORK as they've been working for entire game before.
Throughout the game you can hold the RT when turning the pillars and the game doesn't care. You don't actually need to hold it, but the game carries on regardless. But in the clock tower, if you hold RT, the pillar stops revolving after a second for no obvious reason. Only place in the game that does it.
And here, in the very Epilogue, this is the only place you have to tap the direction and jump simultaniously, rather than holding left and tapping jump like everywhere else.
You might ask "is that such a serious problem?" And I'd answer Hell yeah, because Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is really really difficult game at it's core with lots of bizarre puzzles and trials, so it's EXTREMELY important to make sure the game works stable throughout player's walkthrough, because as long as it doesn't, many annoying situations will happen when player can't understand, is it HE who sucks, or is it the GAME which doesn't work properly.


Although combat system is pretty solid, you're probably gonna use 2-3 combos through the whole game for the sake of it's efficiency and simplicity.
Story contains a lot of fantasy cliché. The main character is literally Anakin Skywalker, lol.
Soundtrack can be really good sometimes, I'll give them that.
Voice actors did an amazing job too. Scottish accent of Robert Carlyle is a music to my ears! :D And of course, the Legend Patrick Stewart doing his thing. Lovely.


In conclusion, it's a shame that LoS could be much better than it is. This title has quite a lot of strengths, such as an amazing atmosphere (it includes soundtrack, visuals, characters) and decent combat system. But the whole experience eventually become ruined because of issues i've listed.
If you're really into some dark fantasy and you love God of War - you might give it a try, but you should be aware of design issues and be ready to use YouTube at least couple of times.

The hardest battles are fought in mind
Just finished Hellblade. It was... quite an unusual experience, want to admit. Never played kind of this before, it felt incredibly astonishing and extraordinary. The main idea - show how people with psychosis and schizoprenia feel. Tragic story of Celtic girl with mental illness and endless suffering because of her sick and horrible brutal lost of loved man, and all of this backgrounded by Nordic mythology, which i find exciting as HEL

Definitely must play if you are in search of new experience and some food for thought. Also highly recommended to watch Hellblade Feature after your walkthrough to understand this project and it's developers properly.



P.S the main menu is incredible 0_0 it's visuals and soundtrack is definitely something ingenious

Очевидно, Проф Прохоров - настоящий магистр постсоветской эстетики и атмосферы.
Каждый его проект обеспечивает максимальное погружение в эту так нам знакомую действительность. Любо!
Игра не уступает предыдущим частям серии, а уровень с Новосибирском прямо таки отсылает к истокам Метро, как раз идеальная локация для финала. Единственное, что заставило напрячься в нехорошем смысле - так это довольно немалое количество багов. Как графических и звуковых, так и скриптовых.

Almost unplayable experience because of everlasting bugs. I can't play in comfort while game constantly crashes again and again. Graphical artifacts, sound issues, broken controls. No way i'd suggest to play this piece of code.

Amazing story, yet not so amazing game.

I remember thinking this game was boring when I first started out, but it turned into one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. ALMOST everything about it I love. It crushed me when Arthur passed, it was done so well and made me ball my eyes out. Truly a masterpiece.

But still, i think it is very important to admit one simple thing before i can click "Thumbs Up" button. Even if this product has a masterpiece Graphics, Story, Narrative, Atmosphere, Music, Character etc, etc, etc, - it is still pretty clunky, sometimes REALLY annoying GAME. RDR's gamedesign is literally f*cked up, there are lots of stupid decisions to admit.
For example, i don't f*ckin want to know, why the hell they did a check for being in the camp (TRUE/FALSE). If it is true, the sprint button becomes inactive. What for? Why? Dan Houser knows. And it's only one of lots and lots stupid useless features. Gameplay in RDR2 really sucks, in general.

Rockstar, you are bad at making games, you better do cinematography.
