So this game is nuts.

Crazy, even. The good kind, where you can actually tell whats happening 90% of the time. At first, this game seemed incredibly daunting and annoying. Now after plugging in a gamepad, the difficulty remains but the frustration I originally had is entirely gone.

This is a VERY competent 2D twin-stick shooter bullet hell. All the little upgrades mesh together very nicely as any roguelit/ke should.

Gameplay takes a front seat with very little room for unnecessary dialogue (although the low budget tutorial robot REALLY needs a "press space/A/X to skip" option similar to pokemon). Everything is explained as it's introduced (again, robot) and it's been very easy to pick up the game.

The map design reminds me of Rogue Legacy- areas are organized on a grid based on their themes and enemy variety. This game uses a more Metroidvania style of map, where it's structurally the same every time with shortcuts and dungeons. The layout inside each tile - or "patch" - is procedurally generated to keep each run feeling fresh.

The game's claim to fame is the lassoing and taming mechanic, where you can (attempt to) tame any creature you're fighting at any time. This is the best part about the game in my opinion; each monster comes with its own unique set of four abilities, and there's a LOT of monsters.

TL;DR, Very fun and incredibly solid.

It was a bold move to add Goku from Goku and Solider from Team Fortress 2 but it paid out in the long run.

Typical Rogueli(k/t)e behavior. Play, loose or win, and restart. Dozens of unique weapons and 6 characters, who each have a specific temporary match-to-match upgrade tree. Furthermore, there is a permanent upgrade tree in the lobby that really opens up the game in a way which makes it feel as if you are never really getting screwed over by RNG. Incredibly fun and highly replayable.

More-er Awesome-er than BTD5. Feels fresh and adds surprising levels of depth and strategy, as compared to the old game where all you did was overbuy towers and win.

PRECURSOR: I 100%-ed this game on PS4, my hours on record are not a representation of my comprehension of this game.

I hate to say it, but the way the game was left is currently hot garbage. This game "released" out of early access after the BRUTAL update. The last update WAS the BRUTAL update. There is SOOO much wasted potential here; the art style is very distinct and rather intriguing, the gameplay is box standard Dark Souls with enough variations and simplifications to either cater to a hardcore Souls player or satisfy a non-Souls gamer, and the lore and atmosphere surrounding the world is interesting enough to warrant a single complete run of the game, mind you that unless you die a lot for no reason, it's a VERY short game. I played this game by myself on another platform and was having a great time, but when I went to find any new information on this game, I was led to a discord for people desperately seeking to play on PC. The Hare Brained Schemes Twitter account, last updated around June 2018, is currently encouraging "People of all ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, cultures, ethnicities, religions, ...women, minorities, and LGBTQ community members to apply" without mentioning any level of professionalism required, so they must be seeking new team members by pandering to the internet.

In conclusion [TL;DR], this game is incomplete. Purchasing in order to help NAMCO finish it probably won't help.

Very Good. Its pushing to become its own game by using the "Buy keys for crates for hats" tactic, but it has so much potential. So long asit doesn't end up having fifty different HUDs, needed "Purchase Only" characters, or pushes for a eSports mode, since, you know, it's already influenced by sports enough.
