For the moment, at least.

This 14 year-old game is (sorta kinda) still getting updates and relatively cheap DLC. If you're wondering where the challenge is, get a defense character to 18-20, then try insane.

Sequel game is held back by being F2P live service, however it's also a genuinely good game and gives some great QoL and interesting build-craft.

DD:A has an identity crisis and I can't recommend it over its betters, but the dev team recently pulled in some community members to kick off a return to development they're referring to as a renaissance.

As it stands, this is currently the best game they have. If you want casual/challenging tower defense game-play, it's right here.

Absolutely phenomenal Survival Crafting game with a LOT going on. Sometimes objectives can be met in multiple ways, and plenty of skills have perks that overlap and benefit equipment and recipes you wouldn't expect.

For an art style that says out-of-date hardware, it's very easy on the eyes. Certain sections feel more detailed and relaized than some games released today. Saying "the graphics are bad on purpose" is kinda demeaning to just what these guys pulled of visually. Low-poly and low-fidelity have never looked better.

This game is 5 GBs. Even though it is running on UE5, performance and size aren't nearly as much of an issue thanks to the art style. The devs acknowledge that "your PC from 1999 probably can't run this," but a steam deck holds up just fine

If you like First-Person exploration, gun play and approachable, non-committal RPG systems, you're doing yourself a disservice by NOT buying this game.

This is one of those games you probably have to know beforehand.

It's very difficult for me, with my only experience being the switch games and the 1 PlayStation title at the time.

I would recommend waiting for a sale, and you likely know if your into this game just from looking at it.

That aside, it's a fun one with enough included songs at base. I hate the subscription feature for DLC song, but appreciate the price of $5/$10 for 1 month/3 months. Some of the big name songs can be purchased in packs separate from this, so that's an option.

I would love to see the RPG Taiko games come to Steam, since those have a full campaign to drum alongside. As for now, I'll have to settle for this one.

TL;DR: This is an absolutely fantastic game. Please try it.

I don't play Souls games, and I usually play spell caster or ranged in every game that applies to. This game changed me completely, and I feel all the better for it, now wanting to go back and play what inspired it.

This game can be challenging, but it gives the player plenty of tools to customize the structure of the combat itself. For anyone who has wanted to pick up the Souls series, but more so those who avoid them like the plague, give this game a try.

Don't go in with the mindset of a prior Souls game as reference; the similarities and differences both reused and remixed don't fit into a yesteryear-Fromsoft-title's mold. "Oh this is just ____", "____ is different in Sekiro/Bloodborne, which means this one is bad since it's unique." I'm exaggerating, but ONLY just.

The premise seems absurd, but the story doesn't once poke fun at itself. There are a few """humorous""" attempts (Gemini), but even they are derived from the original story of Pinocchio. It's personal to the character as opposed to Fromsoft's more world-building focused stories, not that this game lacks those collectible papers with flavor text all over them.

Calling this game a Souls "like" is a massive disservice to the masterpiece these devs have made. In all but intellectual property, this is a Souls game.

$10 cosmetic DLC for a fantastic game.

I really like the game so far. I have 1 thing to ask: if there is any use of AI art in he game whatsoever, PLEASE exchange it for real assets! The disparity between blessings "Entity" art in the menu and the cosmetic equivalent is extremely suspicious.

Again, I really like this game and want it to flourish, but I don't want any part in a game that uses AI generated content. Especially not when its trying to faithfully fill a dying niche.

Very cute, but its putting Skyrim to shame with the shear amount of fetching you'll be doing.
